The 'hiss' when fire is extinguished

    It is driving me mental.

Completely contained fireplace, and the fire doesn't spread, yet whenever it rains it keeps making that horrid 'hiss' sound over and over. Because the fire doesn't spread (I turned it off with WorldGuard to make sure) I suspect it's because of the smoke, though I can't be sure.

Is there a way to stop this from happening with the use of a plugin?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't you just delete the audio file? Not sure if that is a plausible solution though

  3. Its not possible to cancel sound.

You could use a blank ogg file for the sound and turn on read only, but not exactly keen on doing that on every client or going through with em step by step on how to disable it.

What about the smoke particles? Maybe there's a way to cancel those out.

I think you can delete the smoke particles from your minecraft.jar.

Why, that's worse than the blank ogg file. /sadface Place a single block directly over a fire, and use a plugin command like AdminCmd's /rain to make it rain and you'll see what I mean.
