    i just got the plugin and when i set the text to an npc it says text set but when i come back to the npc and click on it or walk by it no text is said

    That's not what he was asking. He wants to turn regular NPCs into evils.

    Evil NPCs work fine, you just can't make them. They spawn on their own like every other monster mob.

    That should be the right one, if you do /citizens reload does the trader still not work? Are you getting a permissions error?

    Another question, which permissions system are you using? With superperms I think you might have to add a ".*" to the end, so it may be citizens.trader.use.trade.*

    I'm not entirely sure on that, however, I haven't moved my permissions to permissionsbukkit yet.

    Here's a list of the other permissions nodes for traders, just in case:

    citizens.trader.use.help - /trader help
    citizens.trader.use.showmoney - /trader money
    citizens.trader.use.list - /trader list
    citizens.trader.use.trade - ability to trade with a trader
    citizens.trader.modify.money - /trader money [give|take] [amount]
    citizens.trader.modify.unlimited - /trader unlimited
    citizens.trader.modify.stock - /trader [buy|sell]
    citizens.trader.modify.clearstock - /trader clear

    I'm having this same error. I'm on v1.0.9c and trying to update to v1.0.9d. The last attempt was to delete config files and let new jar create them. Loaded fine with 0 npc. Then I copied my original npc-profiles into the new npc-profiles started server it was fine. Upon reload of server this error appeared. I too originally was editing config while server was open but stopped that and started from scratch. I've restored back to my original v1.0.9c and all seems stable. I have just tried again and downloaded the v1.0.9d jar and the error is there. Any suggestions would be great.

    Musaddict and others who seem surprised by With the 1.1 Citizens update, Permissions 2.7/3.x support will be removed. Please note that Permissions has officially been moved to Inactive Status "[INACTIVE][ADMN/DEV] Permissions 3.1.6 - The Plugin of Tomorrow [935]".

    The concept doesn't change that much when converting to say [ADMN/DEV] PermissionsBukkit v1.1 - Official Default Groups Plugin [1000] | Bukkit Forums. Most of my conversion time yesterday was spent deleting the dash (-) from in front of permission nodes and adding :true after them which is pretty easy with copy and paste.

    I have set the configuration so that the both economy settings are true (or 'true') but no matter what, new npcs always say "have been repaired for none". Why is this happening?

    Hey guys...
    cool adventure plugin, but when I have addet a Text to a npc and right klich on him, he doesnt shows his Text...

    by the way, is there a better guide for this plugin than the Wiki?

    Thats exactly what I am talking about also lol. The evil NPC's DO WORK and I know they spawn like mobs, which is why I said it would be great if you could choose WHERE they spawn

    I had the Plugin Permissions 3.16, but now its inactive. I had following permissions to traders:
    - 'citizens.trader.use.*'
    - 'citizens.trader.use.help'
    - 'citizens.trader.use.showmoney'
    - 'citizens.trader.use.list'
    - 'citizens.trader.use.trade'
    - 'citizens.trader.modify.money'
    - 'citizens.trader.modify.unlimited'
    - 'citizens.trader.modify.stock'
    - 'citizens.trader.modify.clearstock'
    - 'citizens.trader.use.help'
    But now I am switching to PermissionsEx maybe it work than I will report in about 3-4 days.

    There is an option to turn them on and off, I think it's called "talk close" or something like that. It's in the config file :D

    The built in Bukkit permissions work mate, just need to change the nodes a little like so:
    - 'citizens.trader.use.help' would become: citizens.trader.use.help: true
    If a plugin says it supports permissionsBukkit or superperms you dont need to go get another permissions handler because its all built in now :D

    It was my fault^^ Sry, I was on Citizens Verison 1.0.9c :)
    I updated now. Now it all work fine. Sry I thought I had the new one. But na I forgot to update ;/

    Lol I know that now, but I found out they were changing before it went inactive, before they posted the giant red bulletin (in fact I was the one who told them to put it there :p ).

    Man this never ends, I'm still converting things one by one after one restart after another. Thank you for your help so far, though. I would be glad to donate if the next two months did not include difficult updates like this one (but instead updates that are fairly straight forward and/or automated as far as the config goes.)/

    Update: I am on hour 3 of doing nothing but trying to fix this plugin.

    Hey! I have a problem! I cannot seem to use the trader when I am a non-op! I have already put permissions its still not working. I used citizens.trader.use.trade as well as citizens.use.trader. I have read a few pages in the thread and so far I cannot seem to find the answer except using permissions. I do not get any errors or anything. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

    You can't spawn evil NPCs manually at the moment. You can get guards to work properly by waiting for v1.1.

    i ran into an error where it wont let me select the NPC to edit/remove him. he also isnt following the waypoints i gave him when i created him. is there a way to delete it without selecting it? like maybe accessing the file where he is saved? i would try it but i dont know where they save to.

    when i try to use the /npc select (num) command it says "no npc with the ID 1 exists." so the game is saying he doesnt exist, but i can hurt him one time per log in and he takes up space like he is there. if i take out the blocks underneath him he floats. this is frustrating. i just want to remove it.

    I had an issue where it wouldn't load my #12 npc (it was missing data). Here is what I did. I opened npc-profiles.yml and deleted my #12 npc, and then renumbered the remaining npc's to be consecutive. Make sure you have stopped your server before editing the file and make a backup copy of that file. I'm not certain renumbering is necessary as all previous attempts to delete #12 was done while the server was up, so it would appear to just reload #12 after it was deleted.

    Hope you have some luck. Just in case I would appreciate you reviewing my error I reported earlier today regarding updating to v1.0.9.d.

    i fixed it by deleting the plugin and its saved data all together and re-uploading it.

    I had the exact same problem and I fixed it by changing from PermissionsEx to PermissionsBukkit.
