This idea has been floating around in my head for a while now, but I lack the knowledge to make it myself and I'd really like to see it happen soon, since I likely won't be learning Java anytime in the near future.

My idea is simple: A plugin that somewhat emulates the Safari Zone from Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow by, when the player enters a previously specified world, timing the player in the world and/or only allowing them to travel a certain number of steps (measured in block-lengths, of course). Once either of these configurable limits is met, the plugin notifies the player and they are sent back to the world they came from, either being positioned at spawn or a predefined exit point.

The goal of the Safari Zone-esque environment would be to collect as many resources as possible with the limits allotted. This could be excellently paired with a cave-world generator and a scoring system.

You could even allow the player to be assigned a kit whilst inside the safari world so they enter with only certain items like an iron pickaxe, some apples, and anything else that the server owner thinks would be beneficial for the player, though removing the given items when their time in the world is over may be a challenge unless you implement an alternate method for storing the player's findings.

I imagine an economy plugin would fit in well, here, as it would give the player incentive to break even by scoring on a large mineral deposit somewhere, though it could just as well be handled by a world manager plugin such as Multiverse, which already has the ability to charge players for traveling between worlds.

If someone can pull it off, I imagine it'd be a popular plugin among RPG communities. Like I said, I can't pull it off at present, so the most I can do is request it.
