    New Towny Website!

Taking Shades' Towny a step farther.

A versatile, player-controlled land management plugin for use with Bukkit/Tekkit/Spigot/Libigot, offering solutions for pvp, griefing, chat, inflated economies and monsters.

    Features (open)

Towny includes a wide variety of features to offer instant enhancements to your traditional Minecraft server.
    • Allows players to own and manage land based on a pre-set grid layout.
      • Players join towns and purchase plots of land.
      • Players decide who can build, destroy, use "switchs" and use items on every plot they control.
      • Towns can join together into nations, further structuring a server into teams.
      • Towns grant protection from monsters, pvp, fire, explosions and greifing.
    • Wilderness Rules (Optional)
      • Area between towns is wilderness, with its own build permissions.
      • Limit players' interaction with the wild to just harvest-able blocks, keeping the wild pristine.
      • Roll-back tnt, creeper, wither explosions, dragon damage and endermen block-moving.
      • Block explosions and fire.
    • PVP Enhancements
      • Server with a strong PVP aspect will find Towny's grouping of players to be invaluable.
      • Prevent friendly-fire. (Optional)
      • Nations split players into larger teams.
      • Nations can declare other nations to be allies or enemies, further splitting players into even larger teams.
      • PVP can be turned on/off in wilderness, towns and worlds. (Optional)
    • Teleporting/Warping and Spawning (Optional)
      • Players can spawn to their town upon death.
      • Players can spawn to their town or a town that is within their nation/allied with their nation.
    • Customized modified chat. (Optional)
      • Colours, group prefixes and suffixes, nation, town, towny titles.
      • Channels for general, local, town, nation, moderator, admin and custom channels.
      • Anti-spam feature.
    • Shop plugin support. (Optional)
      • Limit shops to special Shop Plots, enhancing realism.
    • Economy plugin interaction. (Optional)
      • Supports all economy plugins.
      • Charge money for plots, towns, nations.
      • Flexible tax system.
      • Upkeep to remove money from the economy, stopping rampant inflation.
    • All Permissions Plugins supported. (Optional)
      • Perms 2/3, GroupManager, BukkitPermissions, bPermissions, PermissionsEx, etc.
    • Multiworld Support
      • Flexible settings for every world.
      • Enable/disable Towny in as many worlds as you like.

    REQUIRES
    • No other plugins, but is best with Questioner, so that invitations are given by Towns and Nations to residents and towns.
    Optional
    • Questioner 0.6
    • Essentials 2.5+ - (Towny /town spawn's obey Essentials teleport cooldown)
    • All permissions plugins are supported and provide greater customization (recomend GroupManager).
    • Economy plugin of your choice.
(We no longer recommend using PEX at all. It breaks TownyPerms due to the reflection PEX performs.)
    Supported Economy Plugins
    • iConomy 5.01
    • iConomy 4/5 *
    • iConomy 6 *
    • EssentialsEco *
    • BOSEconomy *
    • Craftconomy *
    • * Requires Register.jar 1.8+ (or Vault) in your plugins folder.
    • Any Vault-capable economy plugin that supports false-player accounts. (Do not use register if your economy plugin is supported by vault.)

Try that. If what you typed was a typo, then give us some more to work with. Pastebin.com your permission node file, tell us what permission plugin you use. Pastebin.com your config.yml and your server startup. Check your log for the error made when a player tries to /t spawn.

I need some help.. on my server there will be some towns in some time.. today i tested what happens when a resident from a town wants to make an own town.. that doesnt work.. so u cant belong to a town and be mayor on an other town..
But i want it like that everybody can own a plot on every city and also own an own town.. u understand what i mean..
Do u think it could be possible to code.. that u can have a town plot and be mayor on another town?

This is not possible currently, though a new embassy plot-type is being considered.

@pim look at the config, there you can choose the world.

I´m not able to use /town set pvp on , it says "Invalid town property". If I write /town set, /town set pvp on/off isn´t listed.
The latest permission plugin isn´t compatible with the latest towny version, is it? That´s why we are using version 2.47
We are also running, iconomy, worldedit/guard, commandbook.
    best regards phil

So we set the land size to 4x4 so that we could have roads. But how do we make it so that we link 8 4x4s together and sell it as one lot?

@Ziden you have towny.spawntp in there twice, remove one of them and let me know if it works. Also remove towny.wild.asterisk

Make sure you are running Questioner 0.4 and not an older version. Also make sure the players have towny.town.resident.

    Pastebin.com your
    towny config.yml:
    full server startup:

Can you deactivate the chat prefixes? So it only display's like Leader [Username] and not the nation or town?

    Does Towny work with PermissionsBukkit???

I am getting crazy oO... if i delete or set all perms to false in the towny config... everyone can still create towns... dunno why -.- Tried nearly everything....

I just want that towny has no permissions first... an set them in config... for multiworlds and groups by the permissions plugin... whats up with the permissions in the towny config?

I realise similar things have been requested before but...

Feature Request: (and not a simple one) ability to subdivide chunks claimed by towns to allow different permissions in different areas of the same chunk.

    Practical Application:
Hotels/Blocks of apartments with chargeable rooms
    Shopping malls with rentable units
    Jail cells

I cannot find anything wrong here. You should update to 0.74.0 and see if the problem still occurs. This wasn't a known issue in 0.73.2

Yes, check the towny config.yml. The modify chat line can be slimmed down to just what parts you want.

You don't set the permissions in the config. You will still need to give the permission nodes to your players in the appropriate file. Make sure you've set usingPermissions: False in the config.

    Chat with you later then.

We take suggestions on the Issue tracker, if you would like to add that please do it here.

    Give your players towny.wild.*

By default towny doesn't allow players to change the wilderness, with the exception of wood, ores, plants etc.

It would appear this happens after server reboot or /reload all.

Verified config files for towns and they do show for example:
    spawn=mainworld,148.9442783183325,64.0,2887.0581841181915,13.480106,-52.244995

However it does not appear to load it from plugins\Towny\data\towns\[townname].txt

I've noticed however today, I tried typing

    /townyadmin reload

This appears to fix the issue by reloading the town config files and users are now able to tp to their home towns.

Hope this may help track down the issue or force the plugin to reload the config files after a plugin is loaded/reloaded.

Actually someone was good enough to get us his towny file and Elgarl was able to close the issue finally. It's fixed in the dev version.

Hi, is it possible to disable the join message of the major?
I got several plugins on, that´s why I get 3 join messanges.

I can´t find the option, to disable the auto join for residents
Is there a permission which allows towntravel if I m not a member any of a town?

    best regards Phil
