Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me with the Permissions plugin. I'm new at Bukkit and I'm used to using McAdmin. I have 10 or so plugins but I want to limit them to certain ranks. I really have no idea how to set up or use the Permissions plugin. I read the directions for Permissions on its thread, but I don't understand them. If someone could help me, that'd be greatly appreciated.

The plugins that you use would have to support Permissions, most of the new ones do. If you check in the OP of each of your plugins, most of them will list tell you what permission nodes to use.

For example, let's say you use the Essentials plugin, and you want any and all users to be able to adjust the time of day. You would add that permission node (something like essentials.time) to your default group, and as long as the rest of the groups inherit from that group, everyone gets that command.

If you have commands that you ONLY want Admins to have access to, just don't assign that command's permission node to any group, and Admin will pick it up by default, as Admins have access to * (all commands).

And for future reference, you'd probably be better off posting for help under the plugin that you're having issues with, rather than the general Bukkit support sub-forum.

Ok, thanks. Is installing permissions the same as installing any other plugin? The weird thing about the Permissions download is that it comes with the .jar and a folder. What do I do with the folder? How do you edit the permissions node and where is it located? And where exactly do I put something like "essentials.time"?

All of this info is in the permissions thread, and in other threads in the support forum - Try a quick search and you will find your answers :)
