    Hi there,

I am running Minecraft 1.6.6 with CraftBukkit #818 and a list of plugins (http://minecraft.freaknet.de/?Plugins) in a VMware environment. The virtual server has Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5620 @ 2.40GHz , 4 cores and 8 GByte of DDR3 Ram, running on 64 GByte virtual disc RAID10 10k rpm. The server is connected to the internet at 100 mbit/s. On software side it is Debian 6 x64 and Java 6 or 7 (tested both). CraftBukkit launch comes with "-server -Xincgc -Xms6G -Xmx6G". Now, when a player joins the server, there is a lag for all connected players for 4-5 seconds. This is where the joining player has "Downloading terrain" on screen. The server log gives the "[WARNING] Can't keep up ..." message. i have no idea why. And is cpu load of 30% for 4 players, 40% for 11 players normal on the cpu listed above?

    Thanks for your help.

    bump.

Okay, for me the lag came from LoginMessage. I had five lines of welcome message in the LoginMessage.txt. Deleting that text, login runs fast again, no lags.
