    nSpleef is a spleef plugin I've been working on for a while. After weeks, I finally finished it.

    How to setup arenas: (Use a bowl to select points)



    How to create, join, leave, and delete games: (Because we all know the commands section below isn't enough!)



    Features:
    • Countdown system
    • Restoring arenas
    • Multiple game & arena support
    • Multiple floor support
    • Ready system
    • Knows when people win and lose.
    • On winning, the plugin will tell everyone who won.
    • On losing, the plugin will tell everyone "username is out!"
    • When the game is over, everyone will get teleported to there old location.
    • iConomy, BOSEconomy & EssentialsEconomy support! At the end of each game, if the money argument was entered in creategame, the winner will win how much money entered in times the number of players (For EX, if 2 players are playing and both gave up 5 coins, the winner will get 10 at the end)
    • If set in the config, a player can get kicked out of a game of they don't type ready for a configurable amount of seconds.
    • Permissions/GroupManager support. If not found, nSpleef will allow OPs to use nSpleef.admin.* and everyone to use nSpleef.member.*
    Commands:
    • /spleef define arena - Defines arena, check video above
    • /spleef deletearena arena - Deletes arena
    • /spleef creategame game arena <money> - Creates a game. First argument is the game name you want, second argument is what arena it should be on. Third argument is how much money is required to join the game. Must have nSpleef.member.wager to create a game with the money argument.
    • /spleef deletegame game - Deletes the game. If you did not make the game you cannot delete it. If you have nSpleef.admin.deleteanygame, you can delete any game.
    • /spleef join game - Join a game.
    • /spleef leave - Leave the game you are currently in.
    • /spleef list - Lists all the arenas and games.
    • /spleef ready (or /ready) - Silent command for ready
    • /spleef forceready - Forces the game to start
    • /spleef forcejoin player arena - Makes a player join an arena
    • /spleef forceleave player - Forces a player to leave
    • /spleef help <page> or /spleef ? <page> - Help. Each page shows 9 commands.

    Configuration:
    • instantmine - If true, blocks will be instantly mined.
    • canplaceblocks - If true, the player can place blocks during the game.
    • persistentgames - If true, games will be saved when nSpleef gets disabled so they get loaded on enable
    • (The three below only apply if the game had the money argument entered)
    • givemoneyonleave - If true and the player uses /spleef leave and is in a game their money given back
    • givemoneyondisconnect - If true and the player disconnects while in a game, their money will be given back
    • givemoneyonkick - If true and the player gets kicked from the join kicker, their money will be given back
    • joinkickertime - If this is not 0, then if someone joins a game and doesn't type ready by however much seconds the kicker time is set to, they will get kicked.

    One bug I'm experiencing, love this plugin and would appreciate the help in sorting things:
    • Players receive "You cannot break block...game hasn't started yet" when the game has in fact started. They can break blocks fine, and the game still works, just that you are spammed with that message every time a block is broken.
    I'm running bukkit 766 and a dozen or so other plugins, none of which conflicted with this previously (only seemed to crop up in Version 0.4.1)

    Can a configuration be made that deletes games that have ended?

    Don't know if you overlooked it but got a post a bit above this one, about CommandSigns support? This plugin just need an optional <player> argument at the end of all commands and a permission like "nSpleef.admin.join.other" or something Then admins can also join non-permissioned players that want to try it and such.

    Ended in what way? Actual winner or loser chosen, or using /spleef leave? I can add both if you want. Also, Can't you just use /spleef join @Player for CommandSigns?

    Oh, yep. Lets say I failed miserably if you have instant mine off, haha. Will get fixed in the 0.4.2 release which also fixes some other bugs :p

    "/spleef leave" I believe is the smartest. About CommandSigns. Not really, as I want to not give permissions (I like having all things together (small server) instead of people just porting in and out) to use "/spleef join" but rather using "/*spleef join <player> for the sign so only "&CommandSigns" can use that (only signs can port you in and out)

    And another idea: Spectators. Allow creation floors outside of the true arena, make arena walls of glass and let spectators (someone who lost the game, or someone who just joined as speccy) teleport between the outside floors by right clicking the floor above them or teleport down by rightclicking under them. Then you could allow the "/spleef define" do three things, first is spec floors, second is empty (if some air should be between for better visuals of multiple floors) and the third define is the true arena.

    EDIT: No "either"
    (Air is for people don't teleport everywhere and only allow it in the specific area around the arena)
    (Idea: To define you would start with spectatordefine, then inside that you would create the empty space-define and inside that you would create the arena. Then when people lose they would get teleported to the altitude that most people in the arena is on (so if 5/8 is "fighting" on the 5th floor (i.e. y=100) then all who lose would get ported to the spectator area (somewhere) at the same height (floors would have to be aligned)) and then they can watch the rest of the game freely.
    EDIT: EDIT: Also, what about allow defining of a lobby where all players get teleported to after the game has ended (winner announced) where people can stay and chat after the game and then use "/spleef leave" to get out.
    EDIT: EDIT: EDIT: Perhaps just a command like: "/spleef spectatorarea <id> -1
    to offset the spectator levels for better visuality. Or perhaps a "scanner" which automatically finds the nearest floor of the spectator area there matches the most active floor of the arena, so players can be a floor higher when spectating.

    Sorry for extremly long post and multiple edits. Just a lost of ideas that kept coming at me and I couldn't resist.

    Woah. Wow. Complicated and good. My idea for spectator zones would be other buildings you build, and you are able to go above and below them once getting teleported into them by a command. I'll have to refine the idea and I'll tell you the final one I'll implement.

    I'm testing 0.4.2 and it will contain the following:
    • Fix for the game has not started message if instantmine is off
    • /spleef will now show the version number and author :p
    • /spleef ? and /spleef help
    • Fix with duplicate countdowns with forceready
    • All nodes not written will be written to the config without the config having to get deleted

    I tried to use this on my multiplay server and it has no effect. I would guess it's getting console errors, but I can't check. Commands do nothing and dont even show in the help list. Latest stable bukkit. Version 0.4.

    @niccholaspage thank you for considering. I will try to upload a video of the design I have in mind and explain the "mechanics" of the teleporting and area defining. Everything is better when it gets visual.

    A suggestion again: A grace period for losing around 0.5 sec. This is because a lot of times I have experienced that you lose before you hit bottom of the spleef tower, it actually says you lose and teleports you as soon as you fall beneath the last floor, not when you hit the bottom. Perhaps doing something that doesn't allow breaking of blocks when you start to fall below but waits to announce winner and teleporting till the person has been on the floor for a second or so.

    The size of the videos is a bit to much for my upload so it will be in parts. Correction for what I wrote in one of the videos: When people want to leave the spectator are and go to the lobby instead of "/spleef leave" then "/spleef lobby" where "/spleef lobby" is only available to spectators. Then in the lobby they can use "/spleef leave". Or just use "/spleef leave" to get out instantly.

    Thank god for minecrafts pixelation as it actually allows people to read what I write in the video (even on 360p).

    And again, what about <player> arguments for the commands? Would like to only use CommandSigns for joining to create a more tight-knit community. And in defining the areas, all the ID's is the same so "/spleef definearena <id>" and "/spleef definespectator <id>" and "/spleef defineempty <id>" is all using the same ID when it is for the same arena.
    EDIT: EDIT: Also deletion of inventory when join either spec or game, and when game done inventory gets restored

    Thanks for the feedback nic, and sorry about not including more info on the instamine related bug. Glad you were able to track it down though and even gladder to hear about the next release. Our server has just started it's first official spleef tournament thanks to your wonderful plugin! Thanks for all your hard work!

    You defined the arena wrong. The second point should be the bottom right where the player falls when they lose. And yeah, I will add in the grace period thing.

    Oh and I'll add in /spleef forcejoin name for you NopeDK.

    Sadly cannot release 0.4.2 today since my laptop is just about to die and it's charger broke an hour ago. When I get a new charger I will finish testing and release it.

    Is there any documentation for the config.yml file? While some of the options in the config are somewhat self-explanatory, I have no idea what "persistentgames" or "joinkickertime" are. Could you please add documentation for that config file? (or does documentation already exist and I just can't find it?)

    Other than my confusion from the config file, I think this mod is fantastic! Great work niccholaspage!

    Is it possible to set where people will spawn when they /spleef join?
    Also, would it be possible to set a join limit.
    Say I want to set 4 spawns, and limit the game to 4 people only, would that be possible?

    Mannan, what you do is define the entire arena, including all of the floors, as a new spleef arena. I think when you do this, it will save a record of where the floors were. However it does it, it will automatically regenerate all of the floors this way.
