  1. So I've noticed with my server that specially zombies have a timeout, they'll chase you, stop, look at you and then chase you.

Is there anything I can do to eliminate this time out?

@IHS1200 Noticed that too. I'm guessing it's a 1.8 issue, either by Minecraft or Spigot.

  3. @pookeythekid useful to know it's not just me then, thank you.

new mob ai was introduced in minecraft 1.8. the mobs stop and think more. especially if you hit them, they stop for a few seconds the first time hit.

@mactso So it's intentional? Either they didn't do a great job at it, or it's just a bad feature. :p

Seems to be. I remember people talking about the "stupid new mobs" on the main forums when 1.8 came out.

It makes the game much easier. I'm not sure it's intentional but they don't seem to be putting a high priority on fixing it.

The only things I can think of can be:

    But they're mostly plugins, so...

@mactso As if the game was hard in the first place...

@nbrandwine Are those fixes, or causes? Because I have none of those plugins, although the mob difficulty throughout the server is 2 (medium).

They're possible solutions in the form of plugins. You can also /difficulty 3 to increase mob problems.

We play on hard mode and with an insane spawn mode (178 vs the usual 70). It was hard enough that it took two to three players in some areas and sometimes, we'd just flat out get run out. fun fun! The A.I. change made it easier. Added "infernal mobs" plugin and have custom encounter areas with spawners.
