I haven't seen this particular error before, but I believe something went wrong during the prerequisite installation part. Try downloading the file and running it again.
Just for future reference, the issue can be found within the first few lines of the error, the rest is junk most of the time.

Can't install this. When i try to install it will crash

does it come up with a specific error?
I've noticed that recent .NET 4 / 4.5 / 4.5.1 windows updates have been breaking things all over the program.

I get the bad login and can't join my own server despite my log/pass being correct. Is this because my old account was converted to a Mojang account and if so, is there any way to solve it? (works in offline mode).

    ImminentFate

yep, the conversion would do it.
After converting, you must log in using your email address, not your username

ImminentFate if you don't mind I have a suggestion. I know this might be really hard but I was thinking of cool things to add the Iridium. If you could somehow make a web server that showed the Iridium control panel you could access it from anywhere. You would just go to your web browser and go to your IP and it would show your Iridium control panel. I would just like to say thank you sooooooo sooooo very much for making Iridium.

I wanted to do this, and I even tried, but to put it simply, I would probably destroy your computer's security, it would be that badly implemented. That's if it would work in the first place

Maybe someday. By the way your server manager has 1,800,000 views on Bukkit! DAMN
Also what language do you use to create Iridium?

    ImminentFate

    Maybe indeed.
I don't think those will be unique views haha. Many people will probably be looking at the thread multiple times.

I used Visual Basic to make it, because it's rather easy to use once you get the hang of it.

For some reason I though visual basic was old from like the 90's

that's Vb 6.0, the more modern ones are pretty much exactly like C#

Impressive! I've donated what ever I have left in my PayPal account, I really like your work. I will use this whenever I get a chance.

    Thanks a lot! :)
I haven't abandoned this project either, despite the fact the last update was several months ago. University does not lend itself favourably to pursuing side projects, so it's on the backburner until I finish the semester.

I have received a few emails in the past few hours stating that people have been unable to download craftbukkit through Iridium. This is not a bug, it is simply Bukkit's own servers having unexpected downtime, which will likely be fixed soon.

    A few comments:
Many of you may have noticed that Iridium asks for an update every time you launch it and the windows is filled with weird text (namely HTML code). This is because Google Drive recently underwent a file hosting restructuring, so the changelog and update checker URLs are broken (easily fixed).

I will release a fix for these hopefully on the 2nd of July (next Wednesday), when my Internet returns to unthrottled speeds.

The release should also fix a few bugs and update Iridium to cope with the 1.7.4 Minecraft changes that moved to the JSON format for storing data. I also plan to move away from using CNET, as I can't work out how to stop it from forcing people to download Iridium using it's own client (which bundles other programs with it, much of which is junk) and going back to using Google Drive for the file hosting too.

    So, catastrophe.

After months of no issue, Visual Studio 2013 has decided it no longer wishes to play nice with VB Powerpacks 10, preventing me from seeing, using, or drawing new lines/rectangle shapes on the program (i.e, the separators and also the blue highlight bar used to tell you which tab you're on). The program compiles fine, and shows the lines in the finished product, but I can't manipulate them at all. So I've had to upgrade to VB Powerpacks 12.

This seems like a small jump, but it may mean rewriting the updater as well and/or creating a new layer to the program to make the transition easy for you guys (Basically, you have to uninstall VB Powerpacks 10 and install 12 instead on your own computers). We'll see how it goes, maybe it will play nice and nothing else will have to be done, but who knows

Edit: On the plus side, it appears that about 7 or 8 weird bugs I had before were due to Powerpacks 10, and these have been fixed by Microsoft in 12. Yay bug fixes!

ImminentFate Have you considered making an online version of the Iridium Server Manager, for websites?

I use to use your fabulous server manager on my desktop to run my server, but ever since I have upgraded to my TS 140 ThinkServer (which I do not keep in my same room as my desktop & laptop) I have had to use Multicraft because I do not want to run back & forth between my computer & my server. It would be awesome if you could make an online version for web pages. I understand if you cannot because of schooling & well all of the trouble of making an almost completely new version of Iridum for web pages.

I would love to make an online version, but I feel that given my very limited knowledge of web development it would take a long time, and also could be dangerous - I don't know if it's possible to have security holes appear if you make a mistake in coding for logging in - I have never done anything with passwords and stuff.
So sorry, but for the time being, i don't think I will make an online one.

open up task manager (ctrl+shift+esc) and kill all java.exe processes (and javaw.exe maybe) and then try again

Any estimate when an update will be coming out?

I would love to tell you. Completely bogged down at uni at the moment, it's ridiculous.
I planned to release an update 2 weeks ago to fix the broken updater, but I haven't even managed to do that. I could push an update right now that has a lot of incomplete bits and pieces in it, but that would probably create more problems than it would solve.

Really sorry about this. I keep telling myself that when I get spare time I'll work on this, but you know how it is, when you're exhausted there are some things that you'd prefer to do that don't use up brainpower sometimes.

(Don't rule out an update though, I've looked through the course content and it does seem to ease up a bit in a week or so)

No it's totally fine. Uni comes first, I was just wondering when it would come. I love this resource and offer to help if I could, but my skills C# have not gotten to the point where I would be too much of a help.

Hey, when I click the link to your website, it has an "error 500" (I use Firefox) and it won't let me download the server manager. Would you mind sending me the download or trying to fix this? Thanks in advance! :D

Though Bukkit may be dead (for now), Iridium will still basically work with whatever server system you chuck at it.
Once Sponge is released (A replacement for Bukkit being taken on by some notables from the modding community) I will update Iridium to work innately with that.

However, your current bukkit servers will continue to function fine - the takedown of Bukkit only means that future updates will not be supported, and Sponge should be able to step in pretty soon with it's own 1.8 server.
