Hello people, I would like to know how did hivemc to be 1.8, even if the blocks are not available but they have a system to the version 1.7.9 and 1.8, how this accounting was top? Because I will wish also switch to 1.8 Good evening
Protocol Hack which is unsupported on these forums. It's forcing an updated client onto an outdated server, there is a high chance of something going wrong and both the client and server going down.
xMalwarez They have developers which coded a custom version of Bukkit that's not available to the public. For now, 1.8 is not released and HiveMC only handles 1.8, it's not updated to 1.8. And with this DMCA Issue with Wolvereness, things could take quite a bit longer.
Okay. Thanks At least I'm happy to use an authentic version of bukkit Copies are not banned? they are not punishable by law? EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
Removed comments implying the recommended use of unofficial software and server builds. Also removed comment argument that followed revolving around whether technically not saying something is enough of a loophole to make it like it wasn't said or whether it is still not allowed. Don't try to abuse technical loopholes; I'm more likely to remove your comments when you're trying to be sneaky about the rules than when you just talk openly and honestly about something. Comments like that piss me off.
Last time I checked both CraftBukkit and Bukkit are GPL, so it is completely legal to copy it and redistribute it with the exception of the NMS code in CraftBukkit, which would break the Minecraft EULA. The DMCA claim was made due to redistribution of CraftBukkit and Bukkit code without being redistributed under the GPL, which is violating the copyright. Mojang still needs to ask the Bukkit team for permission to do otherwise. Right now, the only option is downloading and compiling from source, which is unofficial building and thus not supported here.
I completely agree, I don't know who is stupid enough to try to be sne- Oh... You're talking about us...
The lates version of spigot is 1.8 compatible, you won't be able to use any of the 1.8 features, but people on the 1.8 client are able to join the game.
However we do not support that server software here, so if someone wants to use unstable protocol hacks to allow 1.8 clients to connect to a not-really 1.8 server then they should be discussing it on other forums.
Then you're in the wrong place. This is for Bukkit plugin developers. Need help? Got a bug and cannot squash? Ask here.
I'm not discussing anything, I am only answering a question, isn't this forum about helping eachother?
This forum is about answering technical code problems, not asking how to obtain a hacked/unofficial version of Bukkit.
This thread is getting off-topic. The OP already got an answer that was accepted, no need to continue talking on it.
Yes, but certain people were saying dumb badly informed stuff such as "hivemc custom coded it", which is probably why people were trying to give the correct info. Since the protocol hack builds are not available for download anyway at the moment, then there is little point going on about it.
they use the S... version and a network thing called B... they have a plugin for the network that it allows every version called in the config. Sorry that I say S... or B... but these words are banned from the Bukkit Forums
Funergy Where's the proof? I mean, they're really big, so I'm sure they have developers that modified the craftbukkit server.
MrSparkzz Do /ver in the hive mc you see they use Craftbukkit 1.7.10 and in the S... version download page you see they accept 1.8 versions
