Scoreboard & OfflinePlayer

With the change to getOfflinePlayer(String) to become blocking to fetch a uuid, does this now mean custom score names within scoreboards are completely broken within the latest Bukkit API?

Is there an alternative?

 

I believe this should still work? It works for me at least...

 

The only reason getOfflinePlayer(String) was depreciated is the fact that player names are not guaranteed to be unique in the future. Obviously this is not a problem when you are just getting a fake player for the scoreboard so you can continue to use it. I wouldn't expect they would remove the method any time soon.

 

The getOfflinePlayer doesn't work for me at all with the new update, only errors in Console, so there's a problem with that.

 

If you are using the initial 1.7.8 build, download the newest one, I believe they fixed getOfflinePlayer returning null

 

Nope, downloaded the latest dev builds, did not work.

EDIT: St3venAU Which version are you using? As I can't seem to get this working.
