Friends Can't Join My Bukkit Server

My friend can't join my server no matter whatever i do to fix it. I have port map and the port is set to 25565. Here is my server.properties file. Also i am using this on a mac. I believe the problem is with port forwarding but i am not sure.

I have used a mac I assume you used portmap?

 

Yes, i am using portmap

Also, when my friend logins to my server it says "host is down" or says logging in and then timed out.

Please help me, i made this server for my friends and i just finished it and now no one can play on it.

Ok, but how do i fix it?

Also, i went to http://canyouseeme.org and it did not work.
Reason: Connection timed out
I did this when my server was on and portmap was on and with my firewall off.

Make sure your computer's local IP address matches the one you've forwarded port 25565 to in your router settings, and make sure that your friends are connecting with your public IP address as opposed to your local IP address. You should be connecting with the address "localhost" without the quotes.

 

Where it says your serverip: put in your ipv4 address that you used to portforward

 

Ok, when the server is up i should login with localhost and my friends should login with my public ip address in direct connect or just put it in with add server? Also i went to http://canyouseeme.org and it said it can't see my service on 25565 Reason: Connection timed out. I did the test when portmap was on and my server was up. Another thing i noticed on portmap was first it said "port map on (my ip address from my router) and below that was another address that was not my public ip address and when i look at videos it says to give my friends that ip address. And i did http://portforward.com and i put the port in and still it does not work. And for MegaNarwal what do you mean? where do i put in my ipv4 address?

You put your ipv4 address under "server-ip:"
IF you have a hosted port. I would recommend using no-ip to do this. Register a FREE ip like <yourserver>.zapto.org
For more info on doing that, search: "How to use no-ip for minecraft bukkit server free."

Once you have that then put your ipv4 under the "server-ip" in the server.properties file.
Make sure you have port forwarded. Do a youtube or google search on how to port forward. Depending on what router you have it could be different. If portforward.com is not working than try to use something else.

no the server ip in the server.properties just dont type anything. it does not effect anything
