I had an idea for a fun team-based pvp experience

    Plugin category:
    Competative/Building/PvP

    Suggested name:
    "CastleCraft"?
    Something Corny, preferably.

What I want: I'd love to know if something like this exists already, as I haven't found anything similar as of yet. The idea is that there are 2 teams of an even number of players both trying to defend their 'king'. You can add whatever corny title you want for this plugin. I prefer 'castlecraft'.
Anyway, this would be a 2-phase game with the initial phase being a time for the entire team to work together on gathering resources and constructing their own safe-house to protect their king. PvP can be disabled during this time and a large wall that obstructs vision or some sort of boundary should be there. During phase 2, the boundary falls down and the battle begins. Now that I think of it, it's sort of remeniscent of the 'walls' but more team-oriented. Anyway, the goal of both teams is to eliminate the other team's King.
I should probably explain the king... So my idea was to have one player be dubbed the 'king'; randomly selected from the members of the team. I feel like this would force the team to communicate and make people develop better strategies than they would if they were protecting, say, a set of blocks. My idea was that each side would have to simultaneously defend and attack.
Some more details, I was thinking about: I was hoping for the 'battlefields' to be randomly generated in order to prevent players from knowing exactly where to find the high-tier resources. This could be achieved with the same method the mc-hg servers use to create limited-area, and randomly generated space. I tried to code a prototype version of this myself and I was getting very close after a few days, but the plugins I was using interfered and I couldn't figure out how to make the massive bedrock wall disappear after a set time.
I'm not expecting anyone to take up this enormous project, but some feedback would be nice! The idea was to focus just as much on the mining and crafting aspects of minecraft as the pvp aspects. It seems like so many servers nowadays are all about action and killing as opposed to the core of minecraft itself, which is meant to be creativity.
    Commands:
I don't envision many commands for the average player, but anyway, here's what I came up with on the spot:
    • /forcestart -- (admins) forces the round to start, overriding any sort of timer
    • /votesurrender -- maybe players could vote for a surrender if the teams are uneven or whatnot
    • /votescramble -- again, if the teams are uneven, perhaps a certain percentage of players could vote to scramble the teams
    • /settimer -- (admins) sets the timer for the build-mode phase and/or PvP phase
    Permissions:
I've never made any large-scale plugins that really require permissions. Any big ones are usually played with my friends, so I never worry about it. But how about:
    • citizen.castlecraft -- the lowly worker peasants
    • king.castlecraft -- not sure if this is necessary, but might make it easier to pick the king out of a selection of players for the coding process. At least using my bizarre coding methods, it might help.
    • admin.castlecraft -- allows access to admin stuff, like /forcestart and /settimer, etc.
    When I'd like it by:
Not really worried about a time scale honestly. I've got all the time in the world.
