Server crashing

  2. it looks like a map corruption. try loading the map in single player, if it crashes there too, the your map is most likley corrupt

    Ah, thanks. I had some corrupted chunks a few months ago too. I wonder what could be causing it to occur?
     
  4. a few things can cause a corruption...
    1. stopping the server by just closing the console window or killing the java.exe process
    2. unexpected system shutdowns (blue screens (or kernal panics if your a linux person) or power failures)
    3. a failing hard drive
    4. a virus or other malware

    if i were you, i would run "chkdsk c: /R" in a command prompt to schedule a full disk check for the next startup (and maby do a full virus scan to be on the safe side)
    A quick and dirty solution might be to move your server to another hard drive if you can

    I don't host the server on my personal computer. I use McProHosting for my server.
     
  6. then you'll need to have a chat with them. if its hosted, they should provide backup options you can use, i.e., make a zip of your server every day at 5 PM or something like that.
