Ok I want to start my own Minecraft Server hosting company. But I have a problem. I currently run my own personal server for my members. I have port-forwarded both servers with their own ports. Main Server <Removed advertising - Necrodoom> Secondary Server <Removed advertising - Necrodoom> Each computer is running 1 server. Each computer has it's own port. When my server members type in the address they get the error "Can't resolve hostname". How do I run two servers from two different computers having the same IP with different ports. What steps do I need to do to solve this? Update I think the server member that was logging may have had slow internet. But still advice is welcomed!
My advice: Learn a looootttttt more. You CANNOT host a professional server hosting company from home. You need a big server that can handle the load on a good network. And besides, the big companies are already set in stone. There will be no more big minecraft companies, its a dying breed. I'd give up, or move onto some other type of hosting, VPS, webhosting, etc.
Sorry I asked. That's the problem. Servers have gotten to big and their over filled. I want to share the load. I have my business plan in mind so I am still gonna try anyway.
As to answer your questions without being a total jerk - You can't. You can't have one IP be bound to 2 different machines.
I actually got it to work. Surprisingly enough! Beside that my dad and I know a lot about networking and virtual boxes. I just wanted to see what the community could offer in help.
