A new CraftBukkit Beta Build (1.6.2-R0.1) that provides Minecraft 1.6.2 compatibility is now available.

Will plugins break with this build?
Provided the developers of the plugins you are using are keeping up with the development of Bukkit, all your plugins should work fine, with the exception of plugins that use Minecraft or CraftBukkit code.

    What is a Beta build?
A Beta Build is in between a developer build and a Recommended Build. These builds simply work and are promoted much more frequently than a Recommended Build. While we will do some testing before promoting a beta build, we will not be running it through our extensive test process. As such, there are no guarantees that they will not contain minor bugs. If we do find out they are broken, we will mark it as such on DLB and promote a new one. A beta build may contain incomplete API and new features but they should not interfere with running the build in any way.

This particular Beta build, like every first Beta build for a Minecraft update, is primarily made available to help facilitate more testing coverage to bring us closer to a Recommended Build sooner. Please consider running this Beta build to give us a hand with discovering issues we need to address in order to reach a Recommended Build.

    Known Issues:
    • None.

For more detailed information on what is contained in this update, please see the changelog here.

What is the current status of the broken player in vehicle teleportation?
Is there a plugin which can teleport a player within a mincraft to a different location/different world?

The basic functionality seems great, but I'm seeing a lot of new problems that appear to be specific to the Mac clients. I was worried by the feature "control-click on a Mac now does a right-click", since that is already the default behavior on Macs; I think doing app-level compatibility for stuff that ought to be handled by the user's platform could be causing some pain.

I'll dig around and see if these are properly listed as bugs, but the regressions I am seeing on Mac clients are:

    * Resizing game window on a multiple monitor machine sometimes results in incorrect draws (graphics in the window act as if the window is larger than it is, causing the center of the screen to be near the right-hand edge)
    * Control-click "sticks" sometimes, resulting in the player continuously control-clicking until the 'Esc' key is hit
    * When typing in the chat window, the graphics sometimes flicker
    * The infamous 'backspace deletes entire word' mode happens more often, and is no longer is correctible with a control-backspace

All of these are intermittent problems and do not prevent gameplay-- but they do make it quite a bit less fun.

Those are all Minecraft issues that have nothing to do with Bukkit.

I know this happens when someone tries to connect, but my server is unjoinable

That's a vanilla bug that has been fixed in MC 1.7. Nothing to report.

Wow, that was quick! Well done. 1.7 seems to be in very slow development, so we have plenty of time to role out a recommended build. Minecraft updating at the speed of rabbits

Great Job. However on our multiplayer-Server we encountered a bug within bukkit. While breeding tamed wolfs, the Cups dissapear as soon as they grow to adulthood. This was a bug in minecraft in 1.6.1 https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MC-1407 and fixed with 1.6.2. (vanilla).
After installing the current bukkit version the bug with breeding wolfs reappeared. Can you consider this issue within your next bugfixes? Thanx :)

If you've found a bug within bukkit please create a detailed ticket on our bug tracker at leaky.bukkit.org.

  19. Will you be able to download resource packs in the next build?

That is entirely up to Mojang.

  21. So it is thanks to Mojang that hasn't fixed that? That ain't good

Anyone heard anything about when the RB will be released? It's been a month since this beta was released, and nearly two months since vanilla 1.6.2...

And then there's the 1.7 snapshot coming this week too...

I can confirm and expand on Zephyda's suspicion above. Bred cats and kittens (in addition to Zephydra's pups) are despawning even in the beta bukkit build (1.6.2-R0.1). The Mojang bug tracker suggests that this bug was fixed in 1.6.2. If someone has the relevant link to the bug tracker I'd be happy to add my two cents. I'm a new server operator, and I love bukkit so far except for this pretty upsetting bug.

Thanks for all your work guys!

I apologize for posting twice in a row, but all the bugs I saw in the tracker marked this despawning issue as "resolved." However, it seems to now be present again in the latest builds and I wanted to make sure you guys were aware. I love Bukkit and I'm new to Minecraft server operating, but my players are asking me if we should try switching to vanilla until this bug is resolved. Blah.

To reproduce this bug, I followed these steps.

My last three cats I bred despawned after:
    1. I walked through the nether with one following me.
    2. Exit the nether and wait for cat to teleport next to me.
    3. Instruct cat to stay.
    4. Went back through nether. When I returned after visiting another chunk, I returned to no cat. This was alone with no other people present.

    Thanks again!
