Solved PvP will not work no matter what I do!

Hi, here's my problem: I run a no grief/pvp server, and I wanted to have a pvp arena so I made one, and got the plugin PvPArena and it works fine. The only problem is that pvp will not work! So I later discovered when I make pvp global, it still doesn't work! So I know it's not the PvPArena plugin that's doing it.

Here's my plugin list:

PermissionsEx

WorldGuard/WorldEdit
AntiCreeper
EssentialsChat
McMMO
NoCheatPlus
HealthBar
DeathMessages
LWC
CoreProtect
and a few more little ones that have nothing to do with PvP.

I have pvp enabled on my server.properties.

check that PVP isn't disabled in your server.properties or your essentials config.
to enable it in your pvp area, make a region with worldguard and set the flag PVP to TRUE

 

I triple checked that it was enabled on server.properties and essentials config. I also tried doing a WorldGuard region and that didn't work either.

 

check worldguard. if you have multiverse, check that too

 

Where would I check in WorldGuard? Also, I do not have MultiVerse

2. Give the rank that you and your other person - modifyworld.*

Hey guys, Im running a bukkit server with survival games and TNT pvp minigames and while playing with my friend the other day, I realized he could not kill me in survival games. Not only that, but I would not lose hunger or take falling damage. Neither of us were in god mode or creative, although when I op myself, I can damage him.

I deleted Essentials ModifyWorld.jar, because someone told me that it might be causing the problem.

Sounds like a permissions problem, what do you think?

Remember that when using worldguard, a region might have a parent region in it. Check and see if the parent region has PVP enabled.

I don't have world guard, I use antibuild, which locks a region from building but not pvp

the only thing i can think of is to remove all plugins and try adding them again 1 at a time until the problem reappears. (radical i know, but it will help to pinpoint the problem causing plugin.) you may wish to do it in an offline copy of the server if yours is active.

 

Hey everyone, this is an old thread, but I found out the problem and wanted to share it, as it might someone in the future. I uninstalled the pvparena plugin and it fixed everything! So now pvp works. Thank you all for your help!
