I have a Xen VPS that has 4GB RAM, 4GB Swap, and I'm deciding whether to install the x64 or the x86 version of Debian. Would it really benefit from x64 if it only has 4GB of RAM?

It goes without saying that it'll be running Bukkit, specifically Spigot.

Get 64bit so you can brag to your friends.

(oh and btw, all 32bit computers will fail in 2038, so...)

by that time youd probably already use a 64bit or above computer anyway, seeing as most people buy a new computer every 5 years, though.

I'm not deciding this for my computer, all my computers have over 4GB of RAM and therefore run x64 Windows. I'm talking about the virtual machine my Minecraft server will run on. Its using Xen Paravirtualization.

    I'd recommend x86_64

A server is a computer. Thus, all servers will fail in 2038.

You want x64 to maximise any potential hardware.
The future is in 64 bit
