Is it possible to make zombies break blocks other than doors?

I am currently working on a zombie-based plugin, and one of the features it needs to have is making the zombies break other blocks than doors. Is it possible to give them this behaviour, or would it require modifying the server software itself? Also, zombies currently don't target players unless they can see them, so would it be possible to make them always target the nearest players?

 

Try looking at the below for setting the nearest player, and as for zombies breaking stuff, not quite sure what you would do.

@daviga404, Yes you can let zombies break any block that you want. But then you need to look into the craftbukkit/mc dev code to see how to do this
