    Hello all.
I am in need of a solution to a problem I have. I may be moving someplace without net connection or router/modem and would like to still be able to run my bukkit servers so that I can work on them. I have found posts saying that you can run a server locally so that only you can connect but no one seems to point out how exactly to do this. If someone could explain this to me in full and in a way that I can understand (Ergo, Minus Techno-Babble) then I would appreciate it.

If its not on a network, you can just attach to the server (on the same machine) by specifying the server address as localhost or 127.0.0.1, I would imagine.

Well, I had found that solution and tried that. I used the bukkit server I'm working on atm (Which I run through Hamachi) and tried putting 127.0.0.1 into the server properties file under the the Server IP option and it said it couldn't connect. I can remember the exact wording it used though, which I'll be sure to test again and add the info. It sounds simple enough, however its not working, not sure if I'm missing something...

(some technobabble ahead) You might need to make sure that the server has a loopback interface enabled in the networking. Most boxes do by default.

Try leaving the properties file IP blank and just connecting with the client from the server machine using the 127.0.0.1 as the "Server Address"
