that happened because Region-Fixer wasn't made for 1.4.6
it was last updated 9 months ago, so made for 1.2.5

    What about Chunkster?

    Isn't Chunkster outdated?

  7. BUMP-I have same issue on 1.4.7.
Will someone in bukkit address it please and stop blaming plugins.

This exception is caused by an error in the world file, which happens naturally and is essentially impossible to stop from happening.

My only suggestion is that you back up your world daily.

  9. Whats the worldfile? I mean whats its name?
I back the world up every 8 hours. But the errors are non-fatal sometimes so there is no crash.
So i dont restore, so now i have the corruption on all my backups.
I zapped the chunks with ChunkFixer (chunkster is way out of date and doesn't work)
And the error seems to have gone after a reboot.
So maybe its fixed, i dunno yet.
Is this a known bug thats being worked on or should i submit it to bukkit?

It's a known bug. It's not being worked on. It's impossible to work on, since it's part of how files work in general.

The world file is just the files that make up your world. Go into the folder in your server root that is your world and all those files are world files.

  11. thanks.
Oh right i thought it might have been a specific index file or something like that.
How are popular servers not crashing every few weeks and starting new maps?
Cos i've had to start a new map now twice. and its not popular.

Because they have backups that don't overwrite themselves. They take a backup 1 day, take another the next day without overwriting the old one, and so on.

Also, they vigorously sift through server logs to make sure that there is not one error in the log, because if there is, they jump on it and make sure it never happens again.

Even if an error is currently non-fatal, FIX IT. It will damage you permanently later.

  13. Yeah I just didn't notice it. maybe i'll change to backups once per day, that would give me 4 days to notice. Currently i recycle backups after 24 hours or so. I just need to fix the problem now.
Would deleting the region file work? they are all in the same region file.

I'm not positive if it would, but backup the current world and try it. If that doesn't work, you may need to try using some sort of chunk fixing program (you mentioned some outdated ones, and I can't think of a recent one off the top of my head)

    EDIT: Try http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/302380-tool-minecraft-region-fixer/

  15. chunk fixer was the only one but my problem seems not to be chunks but the table that maps them (where and whats its called i dont know)

Its reporting them in the wrong place.
I've already zapped them and sent them back to nature.
Chunk fixing progs are becoming a bit of a minecraft legends at this stage.
I've been all though bukkitdev and chunkfixer is the only one i found.
It reset the chunk but the problem persists.
MCedit doesnt have a fix option anymore, plus it takes me about 14 hours to download the map fix it and reupload it.
So it generates lots of complaints on rollbacks (in their perception)
The new MCedit doesn't seem to do much at all, i found no instructions for it at all.
I dont really get what its for, its just an awkward way of looking at your world from what i can see.

For anyone reading this in the future chunkfixer is here
    dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/chunkfixer/

But it wont solve misplaced chunks, just corrupt ones.

I set a warp in the place in question and i get this when i warp there...
06.03 15:26:21 [Server] INFO Chunk file at -33,70 is in the wrong location; relocating. (Expected -33, 70, got -43, 83)

Its not crashing anymore so thats nice.
But its still annoying, and i assume might get worse.

I did a chunk fix on every chunk mentioned in that list.
