Hi there! I have an awesome idea for a redstone-related plugin. Why don't furnaces generate Redstone power pending on what type of item is burned? Pulses of power is sent from a furnace burning and can be used for a power plant. I also have an idea for furnaces to become electric by Redstone running to the furnace and the furnace becoming a burning furnace from the Redstone power. It sounds lake a vice versa thing, but it works out. It would be great for servers who want to use Redstone power to power their towns. Thank you ~Weasel
I think that Furnaces don't generate power is that there really isn't much of a need to do that, and redstone mechanics wouldn't work all that well for an electric type situation, a full-on mod would probably be best for that, like IndustrialCraft or Universal Electricity.
Thank you for the quick response! I do know IndustrialCraft does this, it would be good enough to keep is simple as a plgin as I don't want to go through all the troubles of editing the server jar and adding the mod to it. It is just simple to keep a plugin with the server. Thanks ~Weasel
I do agree with the point, it would be much easier, but I am not exactly sure if editing the redstone mechanics would be very possible with a plugin, don't quote me on that, but I am not always right :S.
Yeah, that is probably true Burnsalan18, and I bet that by Bukkit, that will allow even more customization to Redstone mechanics. 1.5 will be released within the weeks soon most likely, so I would probably just wait until then for a plugin to do that, and you might need to wait a bit longer for the Bukkit Team to wrap around their code with the new server code/api.
You guys might be right. As that new API comes along it might help out do stuff with Redstone mechanics. As 1.5 IS supposed to be the "Redstone Update", it could help. And hopefully once 1.5 is released, Bukkit will be running back and forth at the 1.5 release quick, especially the API. Thanks! ~Weasel
I would just recreate your request when 1.5 comes out with the API, it would probably work out a lot better then.
