I am working on a plugin to make torches work handheld. I saw one such plugin but didn't like all the extra things and they way they made it operate. I managed to get it to work with one exception. I used Night vision potion effect to apply the light and blindness to limit the view, however blindness is much to constricting view wise. Is there any possible ways to extend the view of blindness or limit the view/power of Night vision? I am assuming no, but wasn't quite sure as it's the first time I actually attempted to make an actual useful plugin that functions 100%. If there are no ways does anyone have any suggestions for how to apply light while limiting the view for the player?
Well, I think that you can use the view distance function in server.properties. The "view distance=10" can be changed within your plugin.
If you can't figure it out yourself, as I don't know how either, I'd recommend going and requesting it on the plugin requests forum, they're very helpful. Or if you DO want to make it yourself, check the plugin development section.
