Java 7 plugins not working

    Hello,

I run a 24/7 Minecraft server owned by ExodusHosting and all is fine, except for Java 7 plugins.

I attempted to use MobArena, UltimateArena, and EnderDragons+, which all require Java 7 except for EnderDragons+, unless you pick the Java 6 option, but my point is they don't seem to work.

The problem is as if the server is ignoring that the plugins even exist. When I use the /plugins command in the server, it doesn't show any of the Java 7 plugins, strangely. The server doesn't bother to generate a plugin folder either. I tested the plugins on a local server ran from my house and they seem to work. Other servers have the plugins working as well.

I am using CraftBukkit 1.4.5-R0.3. I also tried other versions for 1.4.5, but they all didn't seem to work.

I contacted Exodus about the plugins and I thought Java 7 wasn't installed, but I really was trying not to sound rude. I really love this host, aside from the plugin conflict.

This is the Java they are using on all nodes:

    java version "1.7.0_09"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_09-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.5-b02, mixed mode)

    Please assist, and thanks,

    - Trancedkuja

Java version indicates 1.7, so Java 7 plugins should work. Plugins shouldn't be made for Java 7 only though.. but I guess that doesn't matter that much.

Thanks, but this didn't answer my question.

Probably just an issue with your host, as they do work locally.

Anyone know of a possible solution, as my host told me to contact the devs of the plugins, but that didn't seem to work as I already did and the plugins work with other servers.

  6. arent bukkit plugins supposed to be coded on java 6 but you can use 7? idk
    il ask TnT for help

Plugins can be coded however they choose. We recommend Java 6 for best compatibility.

My guess is the OP is running his server with Java 6, even though he has Java 7 installed.

Well I contacted the host and they said there is nothing more they can do to assist me in the problem.

I opened tons of support tickets regarding if they have Java 7 installed and if they are able to fix the plugin, no luck. Java 7 is installed, strangely. If you look at my original post, you can see what version of Java 7 the server is using. Sad, this is the only host that I really like and I do not wish to migrate to a new host.

TnT, do you have a solution? If you look at my original post, you can see the conflict I am encountering.

    Thanks.

Please, does anyone have a solution? The server host does not want to help solve my problem which I think they don't know how to fix the problem since they keep telling me to contact the devs of the plugins which I did twice now and I do not know what I should do. I believe they do not know what they are doing.

Another strange thing I forgot to mention:

I use the same java version as my host does.

I now know it is the hosts fault, but they do not know anything to assist me.

Does anyone know a solution? I opened yet another ticket.

Move. Hosts. If they don't know/want to help you at all, then why are you still with them?
