    Hi,
Does orebfuscator or other anti xray plugins lag a server?
And if it does how much?

Orebfuscator, after aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall the different trials and errors, always ended up creating lag.
The server itself wasn't lagging, but a lot of trustworthy players were complaining about in-game freezes, etc... I've opted for different solutions now, that don't create ANY lag :
    - http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/anti-x-ray/

    Both work a charm :)

minecrafterwork I steal plugins as my own

orebfuscator is ram intensive on your server, if you don't have that much ram I would recommend switching to another anti x-ray plugins such as anti x-ray

I use both, since they're both very efficient and don't cost any ressources. :)

I run orebfuscator and do not have any issues with lag. My server only uses 5gb of ram with 90 players on and 7 worlds.

I find orebfuscator can be tweaked to the point where it is almost seamless. You can switch proximity hider off, that decreases CPU by 30%. You may also turn use cache on and then it is hardly noticeable. If a player is lagging client side they may notice block glitches which they report as server lag.

I found that is exactly true. That is about how I have mine set up :)

Yep same here. For Larger servers it's a must.

Disabling caching may be a good idea anyway atm cause seems to be crashing the 1.4 for some reasons :(

I run caching in 1.4.5 and have not crashed.

Thank you! I've been looking for a non-annoying anti-xray solution forever and XBP works perfectly! :D

Maybe the Plugin combination I have leads to it. I get a really annoying "spam" message in console that is "eating" up my resources in 2-3 hours and server crashes...

To take a shot in the dark, is it possible you have too many chunks loaded? I found that was the issue before for me taking up too much memory.
