Converter A plugin that can convert an image to pixel art blocks. Plugin category: General Suggested name: ImgConverter What I want: I need a plugin that can convert a simple .gif image to a pixel art ingame blocks, i want this plugin to enable or disable any blocks that i dont want to place. My problem is that i have multiples images to convert, arround 100 images, i can make a script to make it automatic if i have a image plugin converter :/ But i cant found it, Cinema is not updated, and all other not updated too. I want to make a annimation from my flash CS, convert my annimation to .Gif sequence files, and convert all .gif images to ingame pixel art, then i can make my annimation with Craftbook and his cool [Area] function When I'd like it by: Yesterday When its done its cool But if a plugin like it already exist, this could be very cool ! Possible, but could be very taxing for a server and would likely cause memory issues/crashes (think of something along the lines of WorldEditing half the world).
The issue with this is that as SirTyler said, very large images could potentially crash a server if it did not have enough memory. Complicating this is the fact that not every server has the same memory available. A small server might not even be able to handle an icon-sized image, but a large one might be able to take a very large one on. I might take a look at this. Seems interesting, but it might end up being unfeasible.
It is completely possible in much the same ways that the programs themselves do it, however the only limitation is the server memory. My biggest concern with this is that someone attempts to render a very large image purely for the object of crashing the server. To the OP, this is a good idea but the limitations of the servers running said plugin is why it will be very rarely used if ever made.
Yep, if a plugin like it exist, i will use it only on OP purposes, and for animations Craftbook I've looked everywhere, there is a lot of program that can convert an image to a .schematic file, but only one by one, i cant select all my 100 .gif to convert them on 100 .schematics :/ To push the idea furter, a plugin like this could have a web interface that can allow users logged in to make an image in a "paint" style, save it in server storage to convert them, then allow trusted members to convert any image they have made in the web interface, into pixel art blocks minecraft style Of course, images will have restrictions of size, like 20 pixel max, it small but can allow players to create cool logo and stuff to put on the face of her safehouse/mansion/shops, without having to place, destroy, replace, redestroy, and making infinite stairway of dirt to make this xD But well, its an idea like another, the best in my case will be an .gif converter with configs to disable some blocks ^^
