Dev 1.4.2 R0.2 vs Beta 1.4.2-R0.1

Hey -

What's better for my server (less lag + glitches) - an updated dev 1.4.2 R0.2 build of CraftBukkit or the beta 1.4.2 R0.1 build?

 

A recommended build is ultimately better but if your determined for 1.4.2, a beta should do. Each build adds something potentially important, and you should follow CraftBukkit on twitter for code changes so you can know what is added/fixed/changed in each dev build.

 

Stay on the Beta unless you have a real reason to be on the dev builds.
If you are on the dev builds, make regular backups.

 

[Please Respond] I went to twitter and followed Bukkit but I couldn't find the code thingy you said you would you would find for Beta 1.4.2-RO.1 that you put into the notepad to make the run.bat Just reply the code to this message i will be checking for a reply every 5 minutes ~Thanks Sydomek~

You should keep regular backups regardless of what type of build you are on. A dev build just has a much higher possibility of needing that backup to fix a problem. Make sure to keep that backup on a piece of media that is not the drive the server runs from. The last thing you want to do is have a drive fail and have that same drive contain both the active server and its backups.
