Is there anyway to stop this message or halt it communication? I don't know where it's coming from.

Its just 1.4 clients opening your server in their server list. Nothing to worry about,

 

I get the same messages, its really annoying when your tring to find somthing specific in the console but u cant cuzz its filled with end of stream notifications. . . there has to be a way to turn this off in a config file somewhwere

Yeah. but when that happens mine server freeze and no one cant join anymore.

 

its been happening since before 1.4, and i don't think so because when people in 1.4 try to join it says "(name) disconnected outdated server." or something like that, anyway i get these notifications like every 30 seconds and my server isn't that popular, unfortunately

 

I'm also experiencing the same issues, and I do not run a server any where big enough for each of them being a player opening their server list. getting a lot more '/<ranomIP> lost connection as well. and players are getting end of stream errors and disconnections. All since 1.4

 

The explanation offered in other threads is that it's not 1.4 clients trying to connect, per se... that shows up as an "Outdated server" message. It's just their client pinging your server to get status info so it can display it in the client's list of servers.

 

so can we use craftbukkit 1.4 develope build?

I am also having this issue... I am starting my own server up for atm, just my friends, and we are all running MC 1.4.2. I have the 1.3.2 R3 CraftBukkit download installed. I keep getting "end of stream" messages and the server wont load on my server list. Keeps saying "Cannot reach server" and then has a big red "1.3" next to it. I am very confused... I have been playing on other servers that are using CraftBukkit and I have never gotten that from them, and I have still been using 1.4.2. Can someone shed light on this? I seriously dont want my last 12 hours of building this server to go to waste because it is out of date or not compatible with 1.4.2 MC Update...

 

Maybe its because you're trying to connect to a 1.3.2 server with a 1.4.2 client? O Either downgrade your client or update your served. The latest beta build of 1.4.2 works great with my server!

Your problem is right here:

The server is not updated to the recent Minecraft version! You need to update the server! Your Minecraft version and the server's Minecraft version do not communicate, however others who did not update their Minecraft version do communicate with the server.

Unfortunately, their server is outdated compared to your Minecraft version. You cannot access it until their servers are updated. As it appears, no one can get on the server until it is updated.

My server is up to date, but the console still spams Reached end of stream with tons of people trying to join so it also spams (IP) lost connection, then it start giving me severe errors. I hate this! This is destroying my server!!! I am also using 1.4.7 Dev build. Recommended build will just spam my console so fast that it generates 8000+ KB of stuff in my server.log. Any fix available?

 

Guys. The "[INFO] Reached end of stream" and the "[INFO] /xxx.xx.xx.xxx:xxxxxx lost connection" is the server lists making sure your server is online. Nothing to worry about. There is a plugin out there that can hide it, but I wouldn't hide it...its stands out pretty well from everything else.

 

I'm getting a bunch of these in a vanilla snapshot, and there are no messages with any IP addresses losing connection or people trying to join and getting kicked out. It works perfectly fine and has all the normal messages plus "end of stream" every few seconds. And my server is not on any lists.

 

If you are receiving the error (ip address) lost connection it is because you put your server posted online and they are pinging your server to see if it is up. however if you are receiving the error [SEVERE] Reached end of stream for /XXX.XXX.XX.XXX (IP address) <-- this is something completely different... hope this helps!
