    Hello,

A while ago I made a thread because the server lagged very much when there were more then 2 players. Since the server got kind of dead, I kind of stopped trying to solve it. But now there are getting more players in again, and it starts to ask all my cpu and laggs very much. I have to set the affinity to 2 cores (out of 4) so my computer stays stable. It started just before craftbukkit, when still on Hmod. With just 2 people in the server there's no lagg at all right now, but when there get like 4 or 5, it starts again...

    PC INFO:

    CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 955 @ 3.6GHz (stable)
    RAM: 8GB DDR3 1666MHz (3GB dedicated)
Running it on OCZ Vertex 2 90 GB SSD, first it was on HDD which also lagged
    Windows 7 x64

    Internet:

    Plugins:
    -Craftbook
    -FenceStack
    -General
    -Permissions
    -Warpz0r
    -WorldEdit
    -WorldGuard

On 1.2_02, I've tried running the server without any plugins and on vanilla, but the lagg was still there, so I guess that the plugins aren't the problem.

    Config file:

    Code:
    @echo off
    "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xincgc -Xmx3072M -jar craftbukkit_548.jar nogui
    pause

Please tell me if you know a solution, because right now the server isn't playable when there are more then 3 persons in the server...

548 is not a recommended build, try 531

    Hello,

I tried running it on 531, but the lagg was still there, it was less, but still not gone.

    Any other suggestions?

Do you guys use a lot of minecarts on the server or have before on hmod?

No, we haven't got any. We used to have it. On hmod we had a huge one, that was when the lagg started there. But we created a new world a few weeks ago and don't have any minecarts as far as I know.

    "lag" only has one 'g'.

Oh ok. Good thing you started a new one back on hmod the minecarts were buggy and could the odd time create this "ghost" cart which added a ton to the cpu and could not be fixed unless you did a rollback or made a new world. But what you have seems to be different.

Yes, we indeed had sometimes those ''gost'' carts which got invissable (most of the times it were the boosters). But I wouldn't know what else could be the problem. At first everything went well (on Hmod), but now the server just isn't playable with more than 3 players...

Anyone else who might know a solution?

my guess is your map is too big cause it seems to be my problem is when people walk out in a line 10000 blocks to get away from everyone

But the thing is, my world isn't big? the world's only 40,2MB and has 21 files, so you couldn't really call it big i guess?

Do as he says. I had the same configuration as you except for the internet connection, and I disabled animals and mobs and now everything is fine.

This could be the same problem, only the differences are that they have a map 50x as large and get the lag with more than 10 people, my map is just 40MB and starts to lag when there are 4 in... But I will try it with mobs off, but from what I read this isn't really working properly, so if anyone has another solution that might help...

This was happening to me but, I update all of my plugins and replaced Warpz0r with MyWarp and it fixed the problem, so try that?
