I googled serached my ip address i copied and pasted it into a minecraft server address and it wont let me connect only way to connect is localhost and it was working fine last month
most likely you did not port forward. make sure your port number is 25565 in the server.properties file and make sure to add a port forwording rule to your router/modem that allows access to your pc via 25565
dont google your ip because that gives your external ip which is the one people use to connect to your server... to get the ip you port forward with and run your server on follow these steps: 1. Go to the start menu and type cmd and hit enter 2. After it opens type ipconfig and hit enter 3. Look through the list and find the one that says IPv4 4. Open your server.properties and type it into server ip spot 5. Go to your router website and port forward to your IPv4 to the port 25565 6. Finally go to ipchicken.com and give that ip (your external) to your friends and they can join but i forget if they have to type :25565 after it or not... youll find out Good Luck
If you're running Windows 7 a windows update was released that changed your internal IP by 1 bit. Mine changed from 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.3 Might help some people but who knows?
