Hello, I think I'm struggling with a common problem. I know how the portals work. Kindof. It's explained here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/345806-nether-portal-science/ When you create a portal in the nether. And you go through it. A new portal will be created in the overworld. Which could lead to some weird things, in our "city". There will be nether-cities too. So the same problem might occur the other way around. Basically. I don't want automatically generated portals. I want all portals in the nether, to go to the portal at overworld-spawn. And I want all portals in overworld, to go to nether-spawn. Multiverse, and Nethrar don't provide this solution, do they? Multiverse might be a solution. But then players require a moderator to create a portal. Does anybody know what to do? There should be a plugin, with a configuration like this: nether_portals_destination: world,x,y,z,yaw, pitch world_portals_destination: nether,x,y,z,yaw, pitch
No that just links worlds to nether-worlds. Like, world and world_nether. And world2 and world2_nether. Reading the features list. And this simple tutorial: https://github.com/Multiverse/Multiverse-NetherPortals/wiki/Simple-tutorial It seems like that plugin is not very helpful.
Oh, sorry i read through your post too quickly, im not sure of a plugin like this, but if you haven't try doing a search: http://plugins.bukkit.org/curseforge/
I thought about that too. I guess that's what most people do. But I think it's sad that players can't make their own portal. I'm going to try this plugin: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/portalbind/
You can edit the server.properties. Set allow-nether to false. That way, portals don't work. (It does not delete your nether world) This can be good, if you just want 1 set of portals at your spawnpoints.
Nethrar *can* allow it, I believe I made a special one-off jarfile with a 'strict' version which prevented portal generation on a per-world basis. I failed to include this in the most recent beta, I can re-add it if you want. Edit: Rather, Nethrar can make it such that you can only create portals in certain worlds, and if there is not a portal on the other side, then they can't link. It won't allow the 'all portals go to one portal' behavior you specifically want, sorry. I misread your question initially.
