With the Minecraft 1.3 release date fast approaching, a lot of people are wondering when we will be releasing a CraftBukkit Recommended Build for Minecraft 1.3. We hope this short announcement will answer those questions.

Due to the size of the impending 1.3 update, we are unable to guarantee that we'll have a compatible CraftBukkit Recommended Build out in time for the release of Minecraft 1.3. Although we started working on the update immediately after the Minecraft 1.3 preview was made available to the public, a lot of things were added, removed and changed in Minecraft from 1.2.5 and, as such, this update requires more work than usual to get things up and running. That being said, we'll continue to do our best to get an update out within a reasonable amount of time and will likely follow our usual policy of promoting the first Recommended Build the moment we get something that compiles and runs without any testing done whatsoever.

As we have done a significant amount of important work on CraftBukkit 1.2.5 builds since our last RB, we'll be promoting a new Recommended Build shortly. This is done so that people have a reliable, stable build to use until we can get a 1.3 compatible build out and so that everyone who relies on Recommended Builds are able to take advantage of all the fixes, improvements and so on we've done since the last 1.2.5 RB.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support; we greatly appreciate it!

I can tell anyone who uses nuclearfallout they allow you to upload and apply your own jar files (dangerous on their part, but it's a nice feature they allow).

I just got a temporary Vanilla server going in the mean time. People kinda freaking out, as it is normally skyblock, but watev. Better than 1.2.5 with 12 people, as opposed to 1.3 with 60 XD

Everyone just stop posting on this page!!! It will come out when it comes out! All you're accomplishing at this point is pissing off the Moderators and if anything you are not speeding up the process! You're slowing it down! just follow EvilSeph on twitter and he will let you know when it comes out!

You do realize, that this service is completely free. Just like you sometimes open the door for someone else when they're walking towards it, they are providing a free, complimentary service. They are under no obligation to help you. All you humane people may be tired of hearing the same message over and over again, but there are just some idiots out there who don't get the message.

You can't demand a service that's provided for free. Would you go on the street and demand someone you don't know to hold the door open for you? No. So why are you demanding that Bukkit provide you with an entire server software? There are two ways this can play out - EvilSeph could release this now, and get spammed with hundreds of people complaining Bukkit is glitchy, or release it later, and still get spammed by a bunch of idiots demanding progress. Frankly I'm astonished how the Bukkit team can continue doing what they're doing, and still keep themselves composed in the face of all the idiots that are out here.

For those of you who just demand more and more from the coders, know this. Coding isn't a cakewalk. You will make mistakes, and no matter how many times you try, there will always be something nagging about the program. It's not like "oh accept client from here". You have to write through every single possible situation, and then test it, then rewrite it, and then repeat till something acceptable has been found. Not only this, but Bukkit is doing something that has never been done before. They're taking an entire server, and figuring out how to make an efficient API around it.

So all you complainers, back off. You may complain about waiting 8 hours for your Bukkit, but what about the people working (FOR FREE) for 8 hours to give this service to you (FOR FREE). Just show the team some appreciation. Give them a virtual high-five. Often times, encouragement will get the message out a lot better and faster than yelling at someone.

But I thought that if somebody holds the door open for somebody once, it is their sacred duty to hold the door open for everyone forever.

    THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING.
