Hello bukkit community! I run a server that is currently on 1.2.5. Me and my players are very excited about the new update 1.3, but I have a few questions regarding map conversion:

When a 1.2.5 map converts to a 1.3 map, does it generate all the newly added blocks (i.e emerald ores and coca plants)?

If so, will it overwrite the current block?

Forgive my ignorance, but I would feel better knowing the answers to these questions. I have put alot of work into the spawn, and my players have put alot of work into their homes.

Nope, all the new world features will generate in new chunks. A new chunk is a area that hasn't been explored before pretty much. Try flying far out then setting a warp if you don't want to just create a 1.3 world along side your 1.2.5 world using multiverse.

as far as i know, this is how it works:
every chunk loaded on the server will be exactly the same when converted.
the new items will spawn and appear in newly generated chunks.
if you want the new stuff to appear everywhere,
id use multiverse, and world edit to copy the things you want to keep and paste them on top of a newly generated world. this way you have your old stuff AND the new stuff in the same chunk.
