What do you mean? I thought there was a free version of BuyCraft? EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
BuyCraft is free. You only have to pay for unlimited packages, 20 commands per package, and some other features. It's a one-time payment (I forgot how much), and it's definitely worth it.
no its 20.77$ for 6 months if it was one time, i would pay 100$ but its not... EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
What are you talking about? Its one time payment of ~$25. And it is free. You only have to pay to get some extra features. Also, please remember that you're not easily going to find someone that is going to spend their time to recreate Buycraft. For free. For you.
BuyCraft has costs related to running the service. No one is going to make a free version of it for you, because of the costs associated with running the service.
its free but you get 3 packages! i have 28 donor classes! i am not going to pay 21$ every 6 months to get that service.
Ok, I guess you didn't read any of my previous posts. It is not $21 every month. It's ~$25 ONCE. Please go back and actually read my comments. I currently have the Premium version of Buycraft. It's great. It was a ONE-TIME payment of 16 GBP. How much clearer can I make this? One-time. I paid for it three or four months ago, and I still have it. Talk to lmc. EDIT: Looking back at my records, I paid 14GBP for it.
go ahead and go to the website, here is what i copied straight from the website, read it ALL Buycraft Premium Premium membership is an awesome addition to your Buycraft account, providing you with many more features. The top 20 Minecraft servers all use Buycraft Premium to process their donations, so why don't you? Premium is only a payment of 13.99 GBP*. Below are the features you receive upon purchasing premium: Intergrate Buycraft on your own website. No advertisements displayed on checkout pages/server panel. An online webstore, completely provided and hosted by us, giving you the ability to sell your packages via a website. Click here to go to an example webstore. Sell an unlimited amount of packages to your users, compared to the 3 without premium. Add upto 20 commands per package, compared to the 5 without premium. Limit packages to be sold only a certain amount of times. Specify your own payment agreement. Sell packages using OneBip.com, Payza.com, PayGol.com, and 2Checkout.com. Secure checkout pages, protected via methods such as HTTPS. Setup help and live support available via Skype. * Premium expires after 6 months.
Yes, BuyCraft 'lifetime' is only for legacy BuyCraft users. BuyCraft Premium is now based on what is, essentially, a six-month subscription. Hopefully that will clarify some things.
I've made a free version quite like it, but it only supports PayPal at the moment and is quite limited on features. Since it's really only a beta version there isn't a public release yet - I'm still looking for suggestions on what it should have/do. It's unlike BuyCraft in the sense that everything is completely free, you host the files required on your own webserver, you can define an unlimited amount of packages, associate unlimited commands with those packages, etc. Also in this sense, there isn't a nice and handy web panel to define the packages. Everything is done through the plugin's config.yml in a format such as this: Code: packages: donator: price: 5.00 expires: 30 commands: - say Thanks for donating! - pex group add %player donatorgroup Everything works fine when players donate while offline, too. Since I've never personally used BuyCraft I'm unaware of all of it's features and am open to suggestions as to what my plugin should do. I'll likely open up a WIP thread in the next few days.
You don't, The old pricing structure that BuyCraft had is what people are referring to as BuyCraft Legacy. They have since changed their pricing structure but rather than forcing old customers into the new pricing structure they get to keep their perpetual license. Before you say anything about how this is "not fair" I'll cover that as well. People and companies offer introductory pricing for people creating accounts when the company is first started. This is how companies work: You reward the people who supported you before you were well known. As everyone above has said: services like this cost money to run, from webhosting to development everything (ESPECIALLY TIME) costs money. Your options are limited: 1) Develop your own system (this is what I did), or 2) Purchase the 6 month subscription from BuyCraft. -John
Hi all Thought I would drop in here and sum up some questions im assuming you all are having. First let me state that Buycraft will not expire for older customers that purchased it around a month ago. If you received an email about your account expiring, ignore it, it was due to a technical bug. We have moved to a 6 month subscription length due to various reasons, one of them being if we have 5,000 servers using it in the future, and they continue to use it for possibly years to come, it will not be possible to keep up with server costs. I would also like to point out something here, if you divide how much premium costs, it works out at around 2 GBP per month. You have to receive probably *1* donation to pay this back, any other donations are yours, and as you already know, we don't take anything out of that. For something that helps you generate 200 GBP+ month in some cases, an expense of 2 GBP is *minimal*. Personally if I had that ratio of profit to expense, I would be loving it. We also offer additional features that you would also have to pay to receive, for example we offer HTTPS certificates from a trusted reseller, not GoDaddy for example. The SSL certificate we pay a year alone would cost you 150 GBP - far different from the cost of premium...
ok that did help, thank you, but my only problem now is, im trying to geet everything set up for my server BEFORE its come out in 10/1/12, as would any other server owner. I really cannot afford to pay this all at once, would there be a way that i could pay more monthly for example 2.25 GBP, but still have premium? this would make it MUCH easier for us, and you would have a higher income from us, just not all at once. -Thanks for all the answers!
Ah, Sorry for *thinking* that it was a one-time payment... When I bought it a few months back, it was, and I assumed it never changed. I tried to find some sort of "proof", but as I had already buy it, it didn't let me back into the screen (obviously). :3 Anyways, Happy BuyCraft'ing!
