Have been looking for a while now but i have been unable to find a server plugin that disallowes mods for the client. Perhaps i'm just not searching the right terms but is there anything out there that checks to see if a client has mods installed?

If such a plugin doesnt exist, would it even be possible to make? My understanding of java is very low and wouldn't be able to program it myself but wouldn't it be a matter of checking say the file size of the client .jar with a .jar saved on the server? Or even checking to see if the META-INF is there in the client?

Wasn't sure whether write this in Help or request for plugin, kinda doing both.

    Thanks

it may not even be possible to do, even with spout. A server cannot stop players from using their installed client side mods, you can only prevent some of their functions. for example the plugin Ore Obfuscator will alter what xrayers see when using their xray mods, and bukkit alone can disable flight. Nocheat performs many of these functions as well.

However I'm also curious if there is a way to at least scan for what players are using what client side mods. Not to prevent them, just to check and see what they are using so we can tell the players to disable them. thanks

    Check out my server= sv.scungilli.net
