    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

Hmm, what about custom variables? Like so far you can use {prefix} and {suffix}, but with plugins such as GM from Essentials you can add custom variables... so say right now my chat looks like this:
    Code:
    [{color}{nick}&f][{prefix}&f][{name}&f]:

It works nicely. But I want to add another thing to it, called "custom". I can set it with GM but HeroChat will not recognize it. So, I would like my chat to be like:
    [{color}{nick}&f]{custom}&f[{prefix}&f][{name}&f]:
    [/code]
This is really what I need from this plugin to enhance things...

Anyone know how to disable the join/leave messages for channels in HeroChat5?

Also, what does verbose: true/false setting do in the config?

So...I am guessing that HeroChat was structured and developed in such a way that it no longer needs to keep up with new builds? Or he's just magical.

Sweet! It works for us on RB 1597 and I also tested it on CB 1774 and MC 1.1
    Works without noticable problems.

It also now again uses the prefixes and suffixes in the permissions file group settings, without a need for an externel prefix-adding plugin.
And by using Essentials, you finally can have the "change-display-name" set to true again,
    so nicknames will now work.

The only feaure I miss atm is a possibility in the config to set which channels a new Member should automaticly join when entering the server for the first time. Currently it seems like only one channel can be set for it.
There is no "auto-join" setting in the config. But hopefully this will be added until the final release.

    this is done through superperms

    herochat.autojoin.<channel>

set that to a group or a user
a few pages back someone posted a limnk to the permissions

I had HeroChat on my server for a while, and, after deciding that it didn't fit my needs, I deleted the *.jar and the folder. However, when I chat, it shows me in the colours of the channel I was formerly in, and I can't hear anyone, and nobody can hear me.

I deleted all the Falsebook files, and the problem stopped.

  23. I have two problems with the herochat v5.

1 -> When a player tries to talk to another, it works perfect, but when on the server, there is only one player and an admin (or OP), when the player speaks, it displays the message "No one Hears You". But the admin (or OP) if it gets the message.
It's annoying for the player that this message appears every time you write.
This enabled chat "distance", set to 150 blocks, and the player and the admin are 5 blocks away.

It is as if the admin (or OP) does not exist.

2 -> I've tried a thousand ways, and I can not accept the Herochat Towny tags. Was reading that if you accept them. Have you not agree?. If accepted, can I tell how to make it works?.

I put {town} for example herochat format, but does not work, does not show the name of the city, shows me "{town}" simply.

    Thanks for the help.

    A greeting.

/herochat doesnt work for me, is this happening with everyone?

Yea faction tags do work, just go to the herochat plugins folder, then go to the channels folder, and then in each channel that you would like to display the faction tag, open its YML. Then in the format area put: {FACTION} whereever you would like it to be. [IMG]

What permissions do I need to put on people so that they can chat?

Because when I had one of my people try and chat it just tells them "You do not have sufficient permissions." I tried giving him them the permission herochat.* but it still didn't work.

Does anyone know the permission list for herochat 5?

    Thanks
    -Josh

he is working on HeroChat 5 and that is compatible with the latest RB
