I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.
Please read the FAQ before posting a error report. It may be solved there.
In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)
When you post error messages, it's important to paste the whole stack trace!

I just installed version 1.50 on my server using wampserver, mysql ver 5.5.16 everything seems to load properly, and DB was created. However when I try any query (even after doing /lb savqueue) I get "no results found." I tried to change consumer settings these seemed not to effect it.
I think I might not have MySQL setup correctly. The MySQL setup on the wiki is different from the my.ini file I use to setup.
    For instance...
... when I removed comment on skip-networking it the DB seemed to stop working and I couldnt log on to it.
    Wiki says:
#Must be disable to allow LB to connect ot the database.
    #skip-networking

This is what my.ini file says about that:
    # Don't listen on a TCP/IP port at all. This can be a security enhancement,
    # if all processes that need to connect to mysqld run on the same host.
    # All interaction with mysqld must be made via Unix sockets or named pipes.
    # Note that using this option without enabling named pipes on Windows
    # (via the "enable-named-pipe" option) will render mysqld useless!
    #
    #skip-networking

    No clue what 'enable-named-pipe' is...
I hope this is enough info I can't wait to get this plugin working it looks amazing! Thanks for the work on this.

Yes, but it needs just something about 150 bytes per block change, so you need way more than 5000 block changes to eat up 1 MB ram.
Likely a syntax error in the config.
MySQL in set up properly (otherwise you would get an error instead of no results).
Don't worry about named pipes, the java MySQL connector can't use them anyways.

The reason is either no logging options enabled in world config, or queue overloaded ("/lb queuesize" to tell, "/lb savequeue" to process instantly)

Help! I'm not so good at this but I have looked on video how you do, and he has a diffrent version here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2WpMUA0dcQ when he edit the config he put nearly every "log" file to true. But I don't have that and when I tried without, and the commands and things worked (chat). but every time I try to see after a block that my offline character (Player) did destroy/create, my admin character (my character) used the lb commands but every time it says no results! plz help! OPS!see what he says above!
Diddiz you just solved my problem the video I checked was outdated. now the things are in the worlds.txt!! Thanks!

I am using PEX also and have the same problem (normal user being able to see logblock data, even without permission nodes): do i understand correct that uploading the permissions.jar (which came with pex) to the server is all i need to do, or is there some further configuration needed?

    "/lb player" isn't a valid command
    /lb player diddiz
    Update to dev #84+
Update spout, or rem0ve it (chest logging will still work, but less precisely)

Hmm, after opening our server to public (max. 45 players), LogBlock starts creating a huge backlog (of ~300000 events). It didn't do that with only 5 players on the server before. I see this issue is being discussed elsewhere, but does anyone have a quick fix for it? Tweaking up some parameters, perhaps?

    Nope, not yet
    Tweaking consumer settings:
Increase timePerRun and decrese delayBetweenRuns (until it fits, if using remote mysql, ignore these and just set force to 250-1000)

  23. Offline

    Etsijä

OK, I tweaked those parameters. Now after restart i get thousands of these:

    Code:
    2011-12-21 01:30:01 [WARNING] [LogBlock] Error while importing: 'INSERT INTO `lb-Pelitcraft` (date, playerid, replaced, type, data, x, y, z) VALUES (FROM_UNIXTIME(1324411238), (SELECT playerid FROM `lb-players` WHERE playername = 'Ihmemies3'), 1, 0, 0, '880', 10, '169');': Column 'playerid' cannot be null
What seems to be a problem? Every message quotes the same player.

Seems like the player firstly joined after the mysql server was gone (or the queue started to grow), and LB failed to inser the new player in the players table and so all block changes fails (no player in players table)
I may need to have a look my queue dump method.

@DiddiZ, I think the plugin only works when you have it create its own config.yml file. If you use the one that it came with it seems like it tells me it loads it, but will not log any new events. I deleted my config file, had it make a new one, and it worked.

I think the problem was the updates to the new version or something (I know it didn't update the config for this
    Code:
    version: '1.50'
    )

I think you should tell people to delete the config and have it update for the 1.50 version...

The problem is a bit different:
The autoupdater for 1.42 updates the old world config format to the new one. If the old isn't present anymore, it'll get false for all entries, assume that was the original entry and overwrite the new format with false everywhere. I should fix that ...
Interesting, I really don't know how, but they managed to modify the server in a way exceptions won't be caught and so crash the server.
    dev #84 is a workaround
You need the world edit client mod
