Discussion in 'Archived: Plugin Releases' started by lmc, Aug 16, 2011.

Over 100,000 servers have used Buycraft over the last 2 years.
What is Buycraft, and why does my Minecraft server need it?
Buycraft enables you to sell in game items/memberships to your community, allowing yourself to fund your server bills to keep your Minecraft server alive. Buycraft is basically an online shopping cart system for your own server!
How will my players use Buycraft?
After you have created a Buycraft account, you are given an online webstore which you can use to promote your items for sale. Your players will visit this website and be able to purchase the items that they want, be it a collection of armour, or a monthly VIP membership.
What can I sell to my users, and how?
Buycraft enables you to sell ANYTHING to your users, from a collection of armour upgrades, to monthly VIP memberships. When a player purchases a product, it is automatically processed on your Minecraft server, and removes all hassle of managing payments by yourself. All these different options will take the worry out of funding your Minecraft server.
Some of the awesome features available:
    • Create donation packages which can reward your players with anything you imagine.
    • Setup advanced packages for memberships ranks, with support for automatic Paypal subscriptions.
    • Many Payment gateways supported! (Paypal, Stripe, Google Wallet, Paymentwall, 2Checkout, Onebip, Paygol, Payza, and Coinbase.)
    • Coupon codes to offer discounts to your players.
    • Run promotional sales to gain attention to certain donation packages.
    • Cumulative ranking to enable your players to upgrade their ranks.
    • Custom variables to offer advanced customisation of your packages.
    • Detailed donation statistics to see how well your server is performing.
    • Multiple webstores per account, with the ability to create sub accounts for your other moderators/administrators on your server.
    • Advanced fraud protection to prevent chargebacks.
    • Webstores available in over 8 languages.
    • You can change your webstore theme and even integrate it into your own website.
    • Everything is hosted by us, resulting in a hassle free and inexpensive way to run your own webstore! The Buycraft platform is updated regularly with many new features added each month.

This plugin truly is a godsend. WIthout it it would be much harder to manage donations.

This plugin is pure AWESOMNESS! Now I'll be able (hopefully) to move my server on a VPS :D And I'll surely support this plugin ASAP.

Just one question... Which permission plugin do I have to use in order to add VIP packages? And what's the command line?

    Thanks in advance! :)

  8. I was meant to include the source in the jar last release but I forgot. I can release the source tonight or you just decompilr it cause I dont mind. Just follow the dbad license stated on our dev bucket page.

Great and thanks for using the plugin.

You can use any permissions you want for awarding VIP, its all based on personal preference i suppose.

Can you see my previous question?

  10. You cannot perform a paypal transaction without a website, it's impossible and your not going to do it any other way I'm afraid.

Also, you only ever leave and return to the game once...

When i said web i mean website....
I mean they can buy off the website without having to go ingame until they are claiming what they bought.
They buy what they want on the website, then they go in game to get it, instead of having to go in game and /buy 1
they can just click item 1 on the website, then pay, then go in game and /claim

  13. Use our webstore then and that will sort you out. :)

40 chars is too little ;_; I cant even list what is inside the package. Maybe make it bigger for premium?

Also, another brazilian hoster here, pagseguro would fit me well too.

  15. Next update will invovle a "Extended" description for use on the buy page

If a user Pays with a bank and paypal has to wait for the transaction to go thew, can they still get there packages? or do they have to wait for the transaction to go thew then they can do /buy claim [Basically im asking if a user buys a package and they have to wait for it to go thew (3day wait) can they still do /buy claim after the 3 days an get there package]

I think webstore should be a little bit more designed.

First, to include a little picture of the package, and a description bigger then 40
Then, give us the option to divide package between subpages, or even on the same page, but making a little division. So we could Organize for example, Blocks, ores, tools, food, groups, cheats....
Finally, and not so important, but still important, a search function on the web store, so players could locate their package in the middle of the other 5000.

Anyway, cant wait for the update.
Until this come, am I able, for example, to make my own webpage(hosting on my server), and only link a button to my buycraft webstore package?

For some reason, i dropped the .jar file in the /plugins and it created the buycraft.yml file inside of /plugins as well.
shouldnt it make a /plugins/buycraft/ folder and put the buycraft.yml in there?

i hve no clue what you mean. but for 100% of all the other plugins that have a config file, they get their own folder created upon dropping the .jar file in the /plugins folder. and i dont see why this plugin shouldnt do the same

  21. They can wait the 3 days
Your suggestions are going to be implemented someday, and yes your second question is correct and alot of servers do it this way.

It dosent really matter I dont tihnk.

Well, not to be rude, but it really does matter. running a good server needs organization. 100% of all the plugins ive seen that have some type of file generated from the .jar file goes into a folder also generated by the .jar.
I cant have files be put whereever randomly. i dont want to have to remember or forget and wonder why that certain file is there. Its very random and un organized. please fix and ill use this.

  23. This will require 379 servers to change there configs. I can make you a custom build if you really want...

All of my custom plugins use the plugins directory for their config files, there is nothing wrong with this.

The only reason 100% of your other plugins make a directory for their one measly config file is due to bukkit not allowing you to name them anything else but config.yml (Untill recently) iirc.

Frankly, If they only have a config and no persistance I prefer them to be in the plugins dir.

I wouldn't mind changing. There were other plugins who had this same issue. Eventually they fixed it and none of us were confused. We took it as a bugfix.

    This may b
this may be the case, but because of this, i look at it as a standard of organization. Just because recently its possible to do this conveniently, doesnt make it better. If all new plugins start doing away with making a folder for their configs, FTP servers are going to be a big gagglefck, in my opinion.

  28. I have family around Over the weekend so may not be able to create an update until Monday but I will have to see.

whenever is good. my server is relatively new but i want to get this set up as quick as possible. I like to make everything ready to support the biggest possibilities. like my 12 processor 48gbram box. will i ever use it all? maybe maybe not. but it feels like a huge empy elegant hotel awaiting its grand opening in just a few short moments, and im the doorman waiting to greet everyone in. ;D

  30. You need to have a premier paypal account.

Nice system, little over powering for a server what isnt even opened yet, though? :p

I will have the update out soon for you.

Fantastic idea, I've been watching the project for some time and will be making this the backbone of my payment system shortly. :)

    Just to be clear though,

There's no way to set up a standalone configuration, is there? By that I mean handle the store, payments, backend, etc, all on my side? I get the reasoning behind wanting to run the backend for most users yourselves, just wondering if the option for standalone exists/will exist?

    Thanks!
