The username is not available?

Well tonight I realized that BukkitDev has potential - I'm not saying I love it and to be honest, I will use it as little as possible. But I need my plugin to show up on PBO, and when it is switched over to BukkitDev, I'll need em to be on BukkitDev.

So, I tried to register with the username Kohle. Nope, won't let me. I tried with a different email. Nope, still nothing. I checked if the username was already taken (which would piss me off to the max) and it's not.

Any idea as to why this is happening?

 

Lucky. As I join BukkitDev deciding to try it out, some...... used the name 'Tolerance.'

My BukkitDev name was forced to be 'Tolerate.'

 

How did you check if the username was taken? Remember that usernames are shared with the other Curse sites, so with such a short name, there's a fair chance it's been taken.

 

It's a problem that happens on MANY forums-- people sign up thousands of names, log in once, and are never heard from again. Then other people who have decade-old name preferences can't get their chosen name on the forum.

On here, I'm 'halley'. On devBukkit, I have to go by my alternate, 'hariedo'.

 

I was lucky to get my bukkitdev name match my forum name.

The username 'kohle' is taken by someone else.

 

*GROAN* Well I'm done with BukkitDev forever, guess my plugins will rot in the Nether with the rest of the forums.

 

Why not just pick a username like Kohle1 , TheKohle etc. Something similar to Kohle

That's a bit of a harsh way to look at it - this kinda thing happens all the time, just use a slightly different alias and be done with it. Look at YouTuber's who run gaming channels, they have to post their nicknames for all the different multiplayer services they use, as their own nick was taken - but they just get on with it

 

Hehe, I already had a Curse account because of Minecraftforums.net

 

Was gonna say, bukkitdev's linked to curse anyways, so if you haven't a curse account, then gg'd.
