  1. Right now, you can link to an external url, but nothing more. Since 99% of open devs use github here, that might be a nice feature to have some sort of integration :)

    well perhaps.. why? what?

I mean it shows where the sourcecode is.. the devbukkit repository does also do something else.. like packaging etc.. but I know if that is really usefull.. any documentation about it available.. not that I would use it..

  3. I don't really feel this is necessary, We just do all of our up-to date wikis on GH, and link to those from our single BukkitDev description. No reason to reinvent the wheel.

You can also set the GH issue tracker as an external ticket source.

I, for one, would actually like to see this implemented. Even if it is just a simple "view current source" kinda doo-hickey.

It would be nice to have a button to the source with a customizable URL. That way we can host the source on github, dropbox, or our site. Like stated in another thread though, this could host malicious links so it will probably just be github.

I just feel like BukkitDev is trying to cover *all* aspects of Project Management, and this is a big one. Even like you said, a view current source. And maybe implment using tags?

Obviously this wouldn't be a high priority, but still...

I like that it's possible to enable tickets and set an external ticket tracker URL and think a similar feature would work well for the Repository button.

I agree, this would be very helpful.

I know what Git is, And know (sort of) how to use it.
    It's just.. Nah.

There isn't a requirement that you use it, but for those of us who do, I was expecting some sort of integration beyond displaying a non-linked url on a page... I saw the feature to link an external repo and was nearly giddy with excitement to see what vast array of features I could unlock by plugging in a URL only to have my excitement crushed by the weight of absent potential features.

Same story here - can't believe it's not even linked!

  12. I just feel like if your open source, you use github (on Bukkit), and I've yet to see a project not use github *if* they are open source (Besides the new developers who include the source in jar, who eventually...Start using github!). Since there is a repository section, why not put it to use?
