    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

Is there any way the world variable could pick up on the MultiVerse alias of a world? That plugin does talk to a few other chat plugins. I'd just like to be able to abbreviate my world names way down. If there's some other built-in way that would be fine too. Thanks.

    (crossposting from the CraftIRC thread)

Can't figure out what the problem is with my CraftIRC/HeroChat config. I'm using CraftIRC 2.0 preview 12, and everything worked perfectly up until a few weeks ago. The chat should be setup so that anything in the irc channel gets sent out to IRC, and anything said in IRC gets sent into the irc channel. The game -> IRC works perfectly, but the IRC -> Game broadcasts in the main chat, not the HeroChat channel which it is supposed to. This might be a HeroChat issue, but still posting here just in case.

how did you fix this, zelow? this sounds similar to the problem i am having.

*sigh* both permissions 2.x and permissions 3.x are inactive... What other permissions systems work with this?? Which ones works that support superperms with this?

    @fffi
    Use PEX. Works perfectly.

This plugin completely breaks with CI build #1160. Please fix it, I can't live without it.

    I'm not sure but I don't think you need the ' 's
Either that or your an admin/op on your server, and therefore it wont ask you for a password to join a channel :D

I'm having an issue with players who join staff channel not having perms to set global as their default, when they have all the perms. Anyone else?

    Everyone worked before cb: 1185

sorry i just noticed this lol well inside the craftIRC plugin config file there is a channels section look for the tag there and name it what ever you like. Then inside the herochat config under IRC in and out use the same tag that you just put into the craftIRC. make sure u save both as always and you are likely to get better results if you edit you configs with your server off

sorry for double post lol. But ya if you go into you herochat config file you can find each channels properties just go ahead and remove the [g] from the global channel or remove the [Channel] at the very top for default format if you dont want it to display channel names at all

Ok here is a shot in the dark as i have not tried it at the top where it say
    craftIRC-message-format: '[{nick}] {player}: '

add a new line to look something like this right below your craft irc format or maybe your default if u dont use craftirc.

    default-message-format: '{color}[{nick}] &f{player}{suffix}{color}: '
    craftIRC-message-format: '[{nick}] {player}: '
    somethingyouwanthere-message-format: '{player}: '

then under global change the message format to the samething you used for the above like i have done below.

    Global:
    color: GREEN
    nickname: Gobal
    permissions:
    speak: []
    join: []
    message-format: '{somethingyouwanthere}'
    craftIRC:
    game-to-IRC:
    IRC-to-game:
    worlds: []
    password: ''
    lists:
    bans: []
    moderators: []
    options:
    hidden: false
    shortcut-allowed: true
    auto-join: true
    local: false
    cross-world-chat: true
    join-messages: false
    forced: false

then you should be able to add that new format to any of the channels you like.

I downloaded the latest build (zip file) from the link in the first post. But there's no HeroChat.jar file anywhere in it. Am I missing something?

This doesn't seem to be working with 1185. The channels and prefixes and stuff show up fine, but /ch anything doesn't show anything in chat. Also doesn't seem to give any errors. Players can't switch focus to different channels, it's quite annoying.

    Please fix.

im using bPermissions, and prefixes work fine :) (they're a permissions node)

They work there because bPermissions uses the old permissions system, And I use PermissionsBukkit, it uses the new permissions system called superperms

    @Tadas159
    bPermissions is using SuperPerms

I am sure this has been asked before, but searching this thread and googling didnt find anything for me.
I got 3 groups that need acces to the "staff" channel, i changed the 2 lines to 2 of the groups and this works, but when i add a third line with the 3rd group name, HeroChat just goes haywire and stops working.

Can't i declare more then 2 groups per channel or wat is the problem here? Thx for any info.

Using PermissionsEX and HeroChat with CraftIRC, I can't get colors to display in IRC.

Using my group 'Hosts' for an example, here is what I have in PermissionsEx:

    Code:
    Groups:
        Hosts:
            prefix: '&4'
And here is how I have HeroChat setup:

    Code:
    globals:
        separate-chat-log: false
        incoming-tell-format: '&8From {player}: &d'
        censors: []
        plugin-tag: '§e[HeroChat] '
        craftIRC-prefix: '#'
        outgoing-tell-format: '&8To {receiver}: &d'
        default-channel: Global
        default-message-format: '<{prefix}{player}{suffix}>{color} '
        craftIRC-message-format: '[{nick}] {player} '
    channels:
            Global:
            color: WHITE
            nickname: g
