    Introduction to Heroes
    Heroes is a dynamic, flexible and highly configurable class, skill and experience system. Heroes itself is the hub of your players RPG experience, boasting classes, multi-tiered and fully fleshed out. Along with classes, Heroes offers your players a new style of PvP through our well-developed skill system and our weapon + armor restrictions. No longer will your mages have the ability to use diamond swords, your rogues will no longer sneak around in their heavy diamond tunics and most importantly, you can now hurl fireballs and stun your targets. The best part of this? It's your choice how your Heroes is set up, don't want a certain skill, that's fine, you can just remove the skill and be done with it! We're working towards making everything about Heroes configurable.

    What can I do with it?
    With Heroes, you can do almost anything you'd want to do on an RPG server. The main feature is our customizable tiered class system, which offers as much to the server owner as possible. Your Heroes could be totally unique to your server, it could be the reason players play your server over a server with Heroes but a different set up. The same can be said about our skill system, it's unique to any of the other RPG plugins out there. Other plugins dub "Skills" as methods which you level up, this isn't the case with Heroes. Skills are things you can do which are unique to your class. Some of our favorite skills are Fireball, Jump and Port. This is what makes Heroes unique.

    What will you help me with?
    We'll help you with errors. That is where it ends. We will not be supporting your issues with your configuration files unless it's a bug within our code. Heroes is a big plugin and it's taken a few months to develop, we don't want to spend the next few months supporting silly issues rather than developing new and awesome features. Posting in this thread with an issue regarding a YML file will get you ignored. We'll be OK with helping you understand the configuration files, but we will not be fixing them for you.

    Where can I download it?
    You can download the latest recommended build here. You can download only the primary Heroes jar or the primary jar along with all the skills provided in a ZIP archive. Each skill inside the ZIP is enclosed in it's own jar, meaning you can pick and choose what skills you want your server to run. This is so you don't have un-necessary weight on your server.

      • Permission nodes to set what classes are obtainable for the default user
      • Custom class names
      • 'Parent | Child' optional relationship, (example HEALER -> CLERIC)

      • Skills in the base platform of Heroes
      • All permitted skills start with /skill <skillname>
      • Allows for developers to add in their own code for new skills
      • Adjustable through skills.yml or overwritten in classes.yml
    • Permission Skills
      • Based on the permission-node system, ability to set the level required to learn certain permission-nodes to have a highly configurable system.
      • Does not use the /skill prefix - Permission skills copy the original command exactly.
      • Also works with non-command required Permission nodes (ie. Firelord for special armor abilities for certain classes)
      • Example: herosneak.sneak can be granted to a "Rogue" class at level 10 - so when they reach level 10 - they can now use the ability /sneak
    • Binding Skills
      • Ability to '/bind <skillname>' to an item to right click and use that skill
      • Use '/bind' again to clear the bind and remove the right click ability
      • Currently only works for Permitted-Skills
    • Inventory Restriction
      • Armor & Weapon restrictions based on level and class
      • Configurable in classes.yml [DIAMOND]
    • Levels
      • /level - to show information about the level - comes with a nice interface to show you how much left to obtain the next level.
      • Set a mastery level - once achieved the user may switch to different classes and have their level/skills saved on the mastered class.
      • Configurable curves of exp to make lower levels easier and higher levels harder to get through
      • Optional Health gain per level
      • Configurable loss of exp (0.10 = 10% per death) by current level

      • SKILL - exp for using a skill
      • CRAFTING - exp for crafting an item
      • MINING - exp for mining blocks
      • KILLING - exp for slaying mobs
      • LOGGING - exp for jacking lumber
      • PVP - exp for PVP

      • Set environmental damage
      • Set monster health/damage
      • Allow bed healing for players to regenerate health in bed!
      • Set player health (works with heart ratios)
      • Set across the broad item damage or override single classes in class.yml

      • /mana - shows the current amount of mana - caps at 100%.
      • Server wide regen of mana - default is 5% mana regen every 5-6 seconds.

    um...ok. i love hero craft and the hero plugin. but i can't connect during school hours. :( so... last year i set up a server for my friend and i to solve this problem. but i am revamping it with heroes now and have questions.

    1. how do you make a admin only such as zo?
    2. how do you make the crafter classes with bridge, gate, (craftbook) etc. or /rep tools since those arent actual skills in the plugin.
    3. finally every time i add my own classes to the classes.yml my server give me a super long error message (that i can't copy) and then says heroes versions 1.1.3-b47 is disabled. what should i do.
    3-2. this also happened when i edited the exp.yml too

    This mod won't work on my server, all we see in the console at com.herocraftonline.dev.heroes.classes.heroclassmanag (cant see anymore)

    and ocassionly, "HEROES MOD DISABLED"

    great mod but i got some problems....
    after i summoned 4 wolfes[/skill wolf] they can attack etc... but after they died i can't summon them again it says:
    heroes: sorry you have too many wolfes already
    also while i didnt restart my server i used: /skill summon zombie
    but nothing happened also no error no message just nothing....

    Read the thread. Don't just throw questions around. We can't fix shit with the information you've given us about the errors.

    I already did it sir I even reinstall craftbukkit just to be 100% sure and I am also 100% sure that I put the proper permissions on those nodes... Every after disconnect and death players all players resets back to lvl 1 vagrant I even tried on the latest version of heroes same results.. is there another pluggin Im missing or is there a conflict in the other pluggins im using?? please help I really need to solve this problem on
    "reset after death and disconnection"

    my pluggins are: Authplayer, Creativegates, Bukkitcontrib,Godpowers, Magicpells, Heroes, and Permissions....

    I already did follow what you have said on the first post. I know how to use permissions I even put heroes.* on all nodes just to e sure I still keep on getting Level and Class reset after disconnection and Death. I checked double checked my installations and I believe that I have not done wrong.. I believe that this is a bug. please can you help me oh kind devs....

    Ok I finally figured out the problem... PLUGGIN Authplayer it seems it has conflicts with heroes pluggin thats why it wont save a players stats.. it resets after disconnection totally not saving stats... I am playing my server OFFLINE LAN is there any pluggins u cant suggest so that me and my buddies can play offline without having same name...

    Is it possible to have a class have 2 parent classes? The reason I ask is because on my server I am trying to make a single, base tier of classes: mage, warrior, healer, etc, followed by a 2nd tier, so for the warrior it comes with the default of paladin or shadowknight and then from there I'd like to have a class that derives from the paladin or shadowknight, we could call it the deathdealer class or something, regardless of which class they choose they should still be able to obtain that third class, if that makes any sense.

    this is already shown in the default configs
    Sucks. Unfortunately those type of plugins always have bad effects. Stick with online if at all possible.

    My test server is in offline mode, and hero works fine with it, though why do you need a plugin for this?
    Remove the offline plugin and goto server.properties file in the main bukkit folder and change online-mode=true to online-mode=false. Your friends can connect to you as normal.
    I believe this is already in the game, a skill called: Battery.

    Yes that will change the damage of an item, but for all classes. I'm not sure how to do it for a single class, but I'll look into it.

    The problem would be your God class at base health 200. Set it to 199 and you should be fine.

    @DThielke and @RightLegRed should be able to help a bit more on how. We also have a plugin, in the works called HeroBlocks - that will allow for exp/class change/ other gains.

    Hmm, weird indeed. I even changed the base health of my own fighter class to 200 and never got that error.
    I even changed a skill to over 200 damage and didn't get the error either.
    When does the error appear? On launch of bukkit or when a player joins/does something in game?

    Well all I really need right now is how to access the parties, and how entities cast spells. The EXP gains are something I can wait for. And I can wait for a few days. Have a lot of stuff that needs to get done anyway. :)

    I have 35 people on my server atm, Its not on launch, Its after the server boots and i'm assuming when people are fighting / interacting. I am trying to find out when it happens or what is done and it happens.
