    Introduction to Heroes
    Heroes is a dynamic, flexible and highly configurable class, skill and experience system. Heroes itself is the hub of your players RPG experience, boasting classes, multi-tiered and fully fleshed out. Along with classes, Heroes offers your players a new style of PvP through our well-developed skill system and our weapon + armor restrictions. No longer will your mages have the ability to use diamond swords, your rogues will no longer sneak around in their heavy diamond tunics and most importantly, you can now hurl fireballs and stun your targets. The best part of this? It's your choice how your Heroes is set up, don't want a certain skill, that's fine, you can just remove the skill and be done with it! We're working towards making everything about Heroes configurable.

    What can I do with it?
    With Heroes, you can do almost anything you'd want to do on an RPG server. The main feature is our customizable tiered class system, which offers as much to the server owner as possible. Your Heroes could be totally unique to your server, it could be the reason players play your server over a server with Heroes but a different set up. The same can be said about our skill system, it's unique to any of the other RPG plugins out there. Other plugins dub "Skills" as methods which you level up, this isn't the case with Heroes. Skills are things you can do which are unique to your class. Some of our favorite skills are Fireball, Jump and Port. This is what makes Heroes unique.

    What will you help me with?
    We'll help you with errors. That is where it ends. We will not be supporting your issues with your configuration files unless it's a bug within our code. Heroes is a big plugin and it's taken a few months to develop, we don't want to spend the next few months supporting silly issues rather than developing new and awesome features. Posting in this thread with an issue regarding a YML file will get you ignored. We'll be OK with helping you understand the configuration files, but we will not be fixing them for you.

    Where can I download it?
    You can download the latest recommended build here. You can download only the primary Heroes jar or the primary jar along with all the skills provided in a ZIP archive. Each skill inside the ZIP is enclosed in it's own jar, meaning you can pick and choose what skills you want your server to run. This is so you don't have un-necessary weight on your server.

      • Permission nodes to set what classes are obtainable for the default user

      • 'Parent | Child' optional relationship, (example HEALER -> CLERIC)

      • Skills in the base platform of Heroes
      • All permitted skills start with /skill <skillname>
      • Allows for developers to add in their own code for new skills
      • Adjustable through skills.yml or overwritten in classes.yml
    • Permission Skills
      • Based on the permission-node system, ability to set the level required to learn certain permission-nodes to have a highly configurable system.
      • Does not use the /skill prefix - Permission skills copy the original command exactly.
      • Also works with non-command required Permission nodes (ie. Firelord for special armor abilities for certain classes)
      • Example: herosneak.sneak can be granted to a "Rogue" class at level 10 - so when they reach level 10 - they can now use the ability /sneak
    • Binding Skills
      • Ability to '/bind <skillname>' to an item to right click and use that skill
      • Use '/bind' again to clear the bind and remove the right click ability
      • Currently only works for Permitted-Skills
    • Inventory Restriction
      • Armor & Weapon restrictions based on level and class
      • Configurable in classes.yml [DIAMOND]
    • Levels
      • /level - to show information about the level - comes with a nice interface to show you how much left to obtain the next level.
      • Set a mastery level - once achieved the user may switch to different classes and have their level/skills saved on the mastered class.
      • Configurable curves of exp to make lower levels easier and higher levels harder to get through
      • Optional Health gain per level
      • Configurable loss of exp (0.10 = 10% per death) by current level

      • SKILL - exp for using a skill
      • CRAFTING - exp for crafting an item
      • MINING - exp for mining blocks
      • KILLING - exp for slaying mobs
      • LOGGING - exp for jacking lumber
      • PVP - exp for PVP

      • Set monster health/damage
      • Allow bed healing for players to regenerate health in bed!
      • Set player health (works with heart ratios)

      • /mana - shows the current amount of mana - caps at 100%.
      • Server wide regen of mana - default is 5% mana regen every 5-6 seconds.

    I found that it only happens in other world not your main world and plugins like Dungeons. It appears when this error happens we lose all man regen and EXP gains.

    I do have some classes set to 25 in my config I will try your fix. and round them up at nearest 10.

    Also I noticed that last time I checked spell sprite effects were not displaying on cows lol.

    Guys I will update my template I posted above with the fixed version just keep in mind that HP min will be 30 and warrior class will be 50. may wish to dumb it down if u don't want higher HP. Extra HP is as i felt as it was MC u died in like seconds near large groups mobs and my template is aimed ate RPG ish servers who have dungeon areas and things.

    So far no error :) 4 of us un a dungeon map smashing down many many mob.

    Still unclear on how to use damages.yml....it's sad there's 0 documentation for this.How do I add Item Damages to Classes?

    Do u think u could provide links for skills like ironfist or backstab? Becasue i dont know if i should just go lok em up or just ask you, i know they are permission skils becasue when backstab was implemented on theserver u said the permission was 'backstab.stab'

    jon he means only for the classes that for example warrior does 3 dmg with a wooden sword and rouges 4

    i just think u have to delete the -> part from ur file IIGoldII so the class names should just be paladin: then its also gives 0 yaml errors

    I was wondering If Changing the HP of a Monster Works, I think this is because I Have Another Plugin, but Will this setup be right?

    So Looking above, Zombies SHould take about 5 hits before dying with the Diamond Sword, correct?

    and also is the Max HP 200? (for monsters) Im just testing all this so I can Make one of the best RP map yet...

    Edit: Im not too sure if the Max Hp for Monsters are set to 200, but if its not, it mightve been a Plugin I have.

    Guys, if you're getting errors such as "[SEVERE] Could not pass event ENTITY_DEATH to Heroes" or any other type of event. make sure that you have a default class, and have passed your classes.yml through this:

    Well there's clearly no tabs anywhere.And what your saying is, your not going to give any support on a plugin you've helped create that has to do with configuration?That's quite sad.How am I suppose to know what the correct format is for class structures if you refuse to assist me?Who's suppose to support me with configs then?Is this even the correct format for classes?I wouldn't know because of the lack of documentation...that should've been at least started before a plugin of this complexity is even released...maybe people wouldn't have as many questions...

    I'm having problems with the Damage.yml.
    When I try to give a specific class more damage with an item it doesn't add any damage at all.
    Can you guys please give me an example for Damage.yml?

    There is a sample config to work with. It LOOKS like the error is telling you you have an extra space after
    - magicspells.grant.mark
    however, I could be wrong.


    If youre changing damage for a specific class, edit that within the classes file.

    I don't see how it's even possible to have a space after the end of the line.I wouldn't say that's the cause, but thanks for taking a swing at it.The sample config doesn't go over ant item-damage's and shows very vague description of adding Permission-privileges.

    and after they choose they cannot change it ...

    Or, instead, you could not use our plugin. We made it clear we don't support configs, other people have got them right, so don't act like it's rocket science. We never said we didn't support the plugin, just something trivially easy.
