    Multiverse 2 - World Creation/Management/Teleportation & More
    Current Version: 2.2-AB

    Description
Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

Looking for the old version that runs on CraftBukkit 1000? We don't have it anymore :( Here's an archive of the old help post. If you're a new user, we REALLY recommend using Multiverse 2..

    The Multiverse Team:
    Developers:
@Rigby90 - The Multiverse God. 'nuff said
    @fernferret - Coding Person. Don't ask him about P2/P3 or Error 199.
@lithium3141 - Utility coder or crazy math dude. You decide.
@main-- - Is this his forum account? Localization person and MV-Adventure dev!

    Documenters:
    @Elizacat
    @AkiTensai
    @Xanipher

Testers (official I know a bunch of you have helped, thanks!):

    • PermissionsBukkit support (Anything that implements the superperms api (PermBukkit, PEX, bPerms...)
    • iConomy, BOSEconomy, RealEcon, Essentials Econ and Item economy support!
    • Show which users are in what worlds
    • Create portals to let users go between worlds
    • Control who can enter worlds/portals with permissions!
    • World scaling with NetherPortals
    • Allow minecarts/boats through portals
    • Launch users through the air when they enter a portal!
    • Conserve memory by having some worlds NOT keep their spawn chunks loaded!
    • And the list goes on...
    Requirements

    • Updated for iConomy 5 (You will need to update to iCo 5)
    • Improved the PVP Setup
      • Now you no longer have to set the server.properties PVP variable to true... this is now completely done via the worlds config and properly stops PVP rather than preventing the damage from being applied.
    Version 1.6.3

    • Update for Minecraft 1.5 and CraftBukkit build 733
    Version 1.6.2

    • Contains updates/features which were introduced in 1.5
Version 1.6 - Thanks to 'fernferret'

    • Updated for CB Builds 600+
    Version 1.5 - Permissions 2.1+ - (V1.5 - 02/03/2011)[/U]

    • Fixed whitelist/blacklisting once and for all :), thanks to @ledhead900
    • Add permission node 'multiverse.portal.exempt' -- Basically means they don't have to pay the cost of the portal... this is useful for Donors and such.
    • Updated to use iConomy 4.1 -- Would be great if I can get feedback on this... as usual I can only test solo.
    Version 1.4 - Permissions 2.0 & 2.1 - (V1.4 - 26/02/2011 - 01:11 AM GMT)

    • Should be easier on high pop servers now
      • Only checks if a player is within a Portal everytime he changes BLOCK Coordinate instead of every single pixel footstep he/she takes.
    • Now Supports Permissions 2.1 -- Both 2.1 and 2.0 support have seperate JARs, so get the right one.
      • Also commands are properly disabled when a Permissions plugin is not found and it will alert the player trying to use the Command.
    Version 1.3 - Permissions 2.0 - (V1.3 - 24/02/2011 - 02:31 AM GMT)

    • Removed the 'Stupidly Long Constructor'
    • Fixed an error which was loading portals that were on a non existent world which caused errors later on.
    Version 1.2.2 - (V1.2.2 - 23/02/2011 - 03:05 AM GMT)

    • Nothing much just updated so it works with Minecraft Beta 1.3, I suggest you don't use a lower Multiverse build than v1.2.2 otherwise it won't work and errors will occur.
    Version 1.2.1 - (V1.2.1 - 20/02/2011 - 23:35 PM GMT)

    • Changed over to the new Entity Damage...

  2. Ok thanks, will look forward to that then. I can describe my use case though anyway. The requirement is a server with loads and loads of small-sized worlds, most of which will only occasionally be accessed. So if they only load when one/more user enters, and unload x minutes after the last user exits, it will reduce the amount of memory eaten up by worlds with nobody in them.

Anyway, looking forward to this future you speak of, and will download the build from within my flying car. :)

  3. Uh I started the wiki page on "How to switch" but haven't gotten it done. I'll try to get some more wikiing done tonight as well as some more work on portals

  8. MV2 will allow you to MANUALLY do this now. It definitely won't be automated for release, but someday... (see the /mvunload command on the Github Wiki if you're interested.) Requires B134+ of core.

  10. We are currently having problems trying to make precise teleporters. Setting destination to p:xxxx works but that goes diagonally off the wanted position.

I edited portals.yml file manually to make nether portals work properly like this:
    Code:
    netherp1:
            price: 0.0
            destlocation: w:terrariaworld:-129:45:28:361.65:45.449997
            location: -14.0,41.0,-4.0:-14.0,44.0,-1.0
            owner: Zaflis
            world: terrariaworld_nether
        p1:
            price: 0.0
            destlocation: w:terrariaworld_nether:-16:41:-2:361.65:45.449997
            location: -127.0,45.0,26.0:-127.0,48.0,29.0
            owner: Zaflis
            world: terrariaworld
But then we as server admins want to be able to create portals with ingame commands too. Command like
    /mvpd w:terrariaworld:1:2:3:0.0:0.0
will cause portals.yml to get w:terrariaworld:spawn and the chat log also says that it's set to spawn.

Then i read from your command details guide that
"The /mvpd command changes or sets a destination for a portal. Without any destination, the command will set the currently selected portals destination to the player's coordinates."
When i try that, first of course /mvps myportal, and then just /mvpd, i get error "Please choose destination".

    Using craftbukkit #1000

  11. Not MV this is a messed up world. Look around for the tools to fix a corrupt world.

Heh, yea to get the desired result:

use "/mvpd here" That will set it to where you're standing.

we haven't updated the docs for 1.x because we're really working hard on MV2 (and it's awesome documentation)

So forgive my stupidity but is it possible to set an exact area you spawn after going through a portal? It seems to select a random area around the portal which is kinda a problem. :|

    Chat plugins override MultiVerse messages
    Multiverse world name message
    + nChat
    name message
    * Changed nChat settings
    world prefix name suffix message

Is there a way to list where everyone is w/o having to use chat prefix? Thanks.

I don't use many plugins and I've already removed everything except for multiverse. Mobs still don't spawn.
EDIT: I've Noticed that this situation is ONLY the Nether. If I create a seperate NORMAL world with mobs: true then there are mobs. The Nether world with mobs: true has no pigmen or ghasts to be seen.

How come every time I restart my computer I have re-do my worlds as if they were corrupted but they're not? It gets annoying and some how I don't think I'm at fault.

    thank you! :)
it works perfectly now with nChat!

    the right line was:

    messageformat: '[+world] +prefix+name:+suffix&f +message'

does anyone know if the world blocklist/whitelist work and how to use it with groups? I tried g:group1,g:group2,etc but it didn't seem to work...

I figured out why this "problem" persists. This only happens in the default worlds nether because the setting is being pulled from the default map. Default is set to mobs:false so Default_nether is the same way. If I create a new nether world with mobs set to true then it has mobs.
Only work-around is to disable the nether and re-name the files. =/

Are you planing on adding "split chats"? Thing that would just split chats so ppl from one world cannot see what ppl from another world are writing. That would be awesome if you could add it.
