    BetterShop - The "better" global command-based shop that ties into iConomy:
    Version: v1.6.5 (1.6.5.3)

    Plugin Information (as of v1.6.5.3 - 4/11/11)

    Commands (open)

    • /shop
      • for those used to a plugin having one command, this is another way to get to the following commands
    • /shophelp (shelp) [command]
      • shows you all the commands you can use
      • can show specific help for a command
    • /shoplist (sl,slist) [pagenum]
      • shows a listing of items for sale
      • (if -1, all, or full given, will show full list. (mainly for console use))
    • /shopitems (sitems)
      • show full listing of items in shop, without prices
    • /shopcheck (sc,scheck) <item>
      • lookup a specific item so you don't have to read through pages of prices
    • /shopbuy (buy,sbuy) <item> [amount]
      • buy an item for the price in the shopshop ("all" is accepted as an amount)

    • Fully configurable colors and message text in config.yml file
    • shoplist can have text alignment (read config for more info): <item> <l(eft-aligned)> <buy and sell info>
      • - uses minecraft font character spacing, so is very close to perfectly aligned in chat
    • shoplist can optionally not show listing tail (or head, but recommended to leave <page> of <pages>)
    • Items can be colored in the new itemsdb.yml file

    • damaged tools can be resold for an adjusted value of sellprice*(1-(damage/maxdamage))
    • buystack can be given multiple items, or number of stacks: "/buystack wool 5" or "/buystack wool blackdye reddye"

    Permissions:

    Just add the following nodes to Permissions' world.yml file (or data.yml file for GroupManager):


    - 'BetterShop.user.*'
    ^ Allows the user to use the list, sell, buy, and help commands
    - 'BetterShop.admin.*'
    ^ Allows the user to use the add, remove, and load commands

    Alright, so you have the plugins in place and set up, and permissions nodes added to the Permissions' config.yml. Now just place the BetterShop.jar file in the server's plugins directory. Then just start the server and add things to the shop. That's all!

    Adding Items:
    There are two ways to add things to the shop:
    1. Recommended, but slow: use /shopadd [item] [buy-price] [sell-price]
    2. Faster: use a text editor or spreadsheet program to edit the pricelist.csv

    • discount system: users or groups can be charged less/more for an item or all items (sell prices also affected)

    • add option for amount in stock for surplus decreases how much item is worth to the shop

    How easy would it be to add an inventory to the shop that resets every 24 hours?
    Let the serverhost set, for example, only 200 diamond blocks that can be bought every 24 hours.

    Also, set individual caps for how much $$ someone can spend buying or how much they can make selling every 24 hours.

    i'm looking for a way to have Packages and multiple items. Will this plugin allow it?

    Packages could be all diamond tools.

    I see that u have a Buy and Sell price. Would the user just input the item they want and how many blocks they want?

    Maybe if possible, you can either enable when someone buys something from the shop, it will show up. Unless they want to do a private transaction, which would cost more... or something like that. Like a black market kind of thing. Not that I do anything like that... :eek:

    Tryed craeting blank Plugins/BetterShop/PriceList.yml
    But error still appearing..

    yea, it's actually due to a blank PriceList.yml. I'm almost ready to release an update that will fix that error, the linux pathname problem, and add subtype support. Just ironing out some puzzling bugs.

    The next update will have that feature, plus more configurable stuff such as the ability to change the [SHOP] tag, the title of the Price-List displayed when you use /shoplist, the messages that are displayed when you buy or sell or add and more. Once I have that stuff in place, I plan to enable shop stock and buy/sell limits and packages.

    ...working toward a better tomorrow.

    Quick usage question. Say you set up a shop and bought "cobblestone" are you buying a single block or a stack?
    Does this program support stacks?

    Great job. I love this. One more thing; for the next update, can you also add in an option to make an item unbuyable, or unsellable? Like maybe setting it to -1 would make it not sellable or buyable. For instance, you can have this: /shopadd 20 5 -1 to make it buyable for 5 and not able to sell to earn more money. Setting it at 0 does the same thing, but i would prefer disabling it altogether so someone doesn't accidentally sell a load of glass on accident.

    When you do this: /shopbuy [item] [amount], you can specify the amount of that item you want.

    Ok. It'll be in the next update, cuz that'll be easy. -1 will make an item unsellable or unbuyable. Actually, a sell price of 0 will also make it unsellable after the next update. Because it makes sense.

    Ok. So I knew this feature request was going to be coming along at some point, but the truth is that I never intended to put this feature into the plugin. Why? Well I really don't see the need. You're saying that you want cobblestone to sell for 1/20th the price you can buy it for. Well then why not set the buy price to $20 for 1 cobblestone and the sell price to $1 for 1 cobblestone? The only downside I see is that it causes the value of your currency for everything else to become more "inflated", but I think this is a better way to do it so that eventually I can implement the /shopsellall command and have it potentially able to sell your entire inventory (if able to).

    That being said, if it's a feature that becomes requested enough, I'll implement it. I just wasn't planning on it.

    I understand. I'll consider what I'd need to change to make this happen. If it's minimal, I suppose I could throw it in, but no promises. BTW, if you want to get the source and try hacking away at it, be my guest. I'm willing to answer any questions about what does what or clarify any of my obfuscated lines of code.

    thanks for this, it appears to be the best option for a shop :) Unfortunately I have a long standing economy and established pricing with bundling in mind. I have a site dedicated to the values I've used previously with a certain methodology. I can't use this without the bundling though for example I have dirt on the market for 3 bucks for 64. Without bundling the cheaper items have to be either worthless or the other items inflated so much that it just feels unwieldy.

    Does this support stock levels?
    I need a shop system that my members can sell their things too, and have it logged in the server. Then another member can come by and buy some (or all) of the items the other player just sold. I really want this to keep members going and working for something. I dont like the "Sell my 64 dirt and buy 64 cobblestone" Idea. I want it to be more like "Sell all my dirt and have it added to the servers total dirt stock~ then attempt to buy cobblestone, if there's any left."

    It does not support stock levels yet, but that'll be in the next update due probably early next week. I'll also try to add bundles, but it may not be in there till the following update.
