Are you using the guilauncher.bat file to run it? If so, could you please edit it and change it from start "" javaw to just java. Then, keep the console window open and see if it's giving any weird errors.

    So bat this?
    Code:
    @echo off
echo You may close this window!
    start java -Djava.library.path=./nativelibs -jar mcservergui.jar

Ahh, check your task manager and see how many instances of Java are running... Either just reboot or end all your Java instances then try again.

It's cool. :) I want to get this working for you. Hmm.... What version of java are you using? Open a command prompt and type
    Code:
    java -version

Crazy! I don't know what's going on. :( And you restarted the computer? Could you try this special version with the modified version of the .bat file? And then show me what it says :)

edit: what is says in the cmd window.

Crazy... Could you try just double click mcservergui.jar and seeing if it works from that? Make sure there's no extra java instances running, of course.

Nope, just does the "148 recipes \ 16 achievements" thing.

Dude, what the hell... Are you sure you restarted your computer? :(

Wait a minute.. If 148 recipes \ 16 achievements shows up then that means the MC server is actually starting... 2 Things, have you been able to start a server without the GUI? If so, try this version and see what it shows in the CMD box.

It just shows the normal text and then says "148 recipes \ 16 achievements"

So... Have you been able to launch a server WITHOUT my GUI?

    Thanks a lot !
Both worked, i haven't noticed the "Task is for custom button" checkbox. :p

Why is the players list so tricky to configure?

I get this message once at first server start, then when i stop then restart its all fine.

Yeah what happens to me is it freezes and then locks the program. Hope no one gets stuck like me. :p

Lol! You should have mentioned that it was FREEZING the GUI as well. Not quite sure why, but still any important detail and will allow me to investigate further.

Well, the ui would become unresponsive, but the program would not freeze in the sense of windows.

I have a had a very similar problem on my end, except that the server load successfully, and players can login normally. Only problem is the gui becomes unresponsive: the Stop & Save Worlds button do nothing, whatever command I type in the text box doesn't execute, etc. I can't even shutdown the gui; I have to end its process to close it.

One thing that switched the bug around was the box "Check if server is a Bukkit Server". Unchecked gets me an unresponsive gui. If I check it, the server loads fine, and the gui works perfectly, but noone can connect on the server.
Edit: I just left the server online for about 10min, with the box checked, and the gui freezing happened as well. I haven't had time to try and replicate the problem though.

If I load my server with the old .6.10 windows version, it works ok. I still have to test
    Running with proxy disabled
    MC Server GUI .9.5
Bukkit 953 (tested with 863 as well)
    Java version 6 update 26

    @dumptruckman
Been having some freezing of the gui with this ever since MC 1.7 ? ideas I have none appears to do it during backups server seem to respond fine in-game but when connecting to the remote server computer to the gui and windows takes unusually long to respond and gui "javaw" process is at 50% load and locked up even the server STOP button is grayed out everything.., gui is remains un responsive and I have to stop server from game client then force close the gui.

This is with your latest Gui as well mind you. Gui logs just tells me it start and ran ok.

LF to hearing back from you dumptruckman :)

Sorry I am in a bit of rush updating the server for 1.7.3 I will talk more one to one once I'm done maybe

I'm aware of potential unresponsiveness from the GUI during backups... I can't seem to reproduce it reliably but I am looking in to it. The stop button becomes grayed out during server backup because stopping the server causes the server to save the world files which, while backing up, could cause world corruption. It is a safety mechanism. Now... If it's DONE backing up, it should NOT still be grayed out. If it is, please let me know. I will see if I can make it so the backup process can be interrupted in the future.

Yes this is exactly what I am saying the GUI completely freezes sometimes when its been running over night eventually it will just HARD LOCK UP and the system also becomes sluggish when checking the Task manager for process usage the javaw.exe that is what the gui uses is at excess of 50% cpu load !!!. The backup progress bar is displayed but is not moving the gui accepts nothing its totally not responsive even long after the backup is done the gui fails to respond I can't even tell if the backup is done or not the only way I know it is done is when the HDD light stops flashing like a rabbit on steroids hopping across a meadow with 3 hungry wolves chasing it.

I know its not a server or pc issue as the server still responds fine when connecting and playing the it is just theg gui becomes useless and It no longer shows realtime events or is able to even be closed or used in anyway I need to stop server in the mc client then force the gui process to end before restarting the gui. Like I said I have no idea why it would do this but it appears to do it during backups as the HDD light does what my quite interestingly detailed sentence above about bunny rabbits but once it ends as stated the gui remains dead as a door knob.

Ahh, well, I suppose it's not always realizing when the backups are finished... I just released .9.6 but I'm not sure it will completely fix this issue.. But you SHOULD at least be able to stop the server if it does come to this. I've made it so the start/stop buttons are not disabled anymore and instead will cancel the backup operation.
