    Multiverse 2 - World Creation/Management/Teleportation & More
    Current Version: 2.2-AB

    Description
Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

Looking for the old version that runs on CraftBukkit 1000? We don't have it anymore :( Here's an archive of the old help post. If you're a new user, we REALLY recommend using Multiverse 2..

    The Multiverse Team:
    Developers:
@Rigby90 - The Multiverse God. 'nuff said
    @fernferret - Coding Person. Don't ask him about P2/P3 or Error 199.
@lithium3141 - Utility coder or crazy math dude. You decide.
@main-- - Is this his forum account? Localization person and MV-Adventure dev!

    Documenters:
    @Elizacat
    @AkiTensai
    @Xanipher

Testers (official I know a bunch of you have helped, thanks!):

    • PermissionsBukkit support (Anything that implements the superperms api (PermBukkit, PEX, bPerms...)
    • iConomy, BOSEconomy, RealEcon, Essentials Econ and Item economy support!
    • Show which users are in what worlds
    • Create portals to let users go between worlds
    • Control who can enter worlds/portals with permissions!
    • World scaling with NetherPortals
    • Allow minecarts/boats through portals
    • Launch users through the air when they enter a portal!
    • Conserve memory by having some worlds NOT keep their spawn chunks loaded!
    • And the list goes on...

    • Fixed 0 Price Portals
    • Fixed a bug with new Portals
    • Updated for iConomy 5 (You will need to update to iCo 5)
    • Improved the PVP Setup
      • Now you no longer have to set the server.properties PVP variable to true... this is now completely done via the worlds config and properly stops PVP rather than preventing the damage from being applied.
    Version 1.6.3

    • Update for Minecraft 1.5 and CraftBukkit build 733
    Version 1.6.2

    • Contains updates/features which were introduced in 1.5
Version 1.6 - Thanks to 'fernferret'

    • Updated for CB Builds 600+
    Version 1.5 - Permissions 2.1+ - (V1.5 - 02/03/2011)[/U]

    • Fixed whitelist/blacklisting once and for all :), thanks to @ledhead900
    • Add permission node 'multiverse.portal.exempt' -- Basically means they don't have to pay the cost of the portal... this is useful for Donors and such.
    • Updated to use iConomy 4.1 -- Would be great if I can get feedback on this... as usual I can only test solo.
    Version 1.4 - Permissions 2.0 & 2.1 - (V1.4 - 26/02/2011 - 01:11 AM GMT)

    • Should be easier on high pop servers now
      • Only checks if a player is within a Portal everytime he changes BLOCK Coordinate instead of every single pixel footstep he/she takes.
    • Now Supports Permissions 2.1 -- Both 2.1 and 2.0 support have seperate JARs, so get the right one.
      • Also commands are properly disabled when a Permissions plugin is not found and it will alert the player trying to use the Command.
    Version 1.3 - Permissions 2.0 - (V1.3 - 24/02/2011 - 02:31 AM GMT)

    • Removed the 'Stupidly Long Constructor'
    • Fixed an error which was loading portals that were on a non existent world which caused errors later on.
    Version 1.2.2 - (V1.2.2 - 23/02/2011 - 03:05 AM GMT)

    • Nothing much just updated so it works with Minecraft Beta 1.3, I suggest you don't use a lower Multiverse build than v1.2.2 otherwise it won't work and errors will occur.
    Version 1.2.1 - (V1.2.1 - 20/02/2011 - 23:35 PM GMT)

    • Changed over to the new Entity Damage...

I've recently renamed my world files and (to the best of my knowledge) all the config files as well to match. Now, upon death, my users are being disconnected from the world. This is from the console:

it doesn't, the config has the options but they simply Do not work for me.
any chance you can give me a 'How-To' for it? like an example

  7. Side note: If you get in IRC, I'll answer faster, but unless it's a bug request, I really would appreciate it if you didn't ask how to do XY and Z in 2 yet. When I post answers here, someone is going to read it and then ask why XY or Z doesn't work in 1.

I'll try to get some basic stuff put on the wiki, but FYI there's already a ticket. This is the largest part of 2 that's not done. Documentation.

I have three worlds, the default one that is freebuild, a nether that originally belonged to that freebuild world, and a new survival world. Now currently when people make a nether portal on the survival world, it goes to the nether, which is fine, but when they step back through that nether portal in the nether, they go to the freebuild world. Is there a way to make it so portals in the nether go to the survival world?

  12. Nope, this is the individual plugin developer's responsibility to support multiple worlds. Plugins get loaded once per server.

Heh, not until MV2. This is one of the most asked questions btw. (Multiworld nethers)

    EDIT: Not related to Multiverse.

Tip: Biome v0.2 (with MV) causes nether mobs to disappear and replaced by normal mobs.

Would be great to get "/mvtp p:<player> world" to teleport another player instead of yourself.

I just got, yet another, mega fricken error.

Here's the server.log of the entire error:
    http://pastebin.com/pp5zi0xd

    I basically got 101 of:
    Code:
2011-07-07 20:03:11 [SEVERE] Could not pass event PLAYER_MOVE to MultiVerse
    java.lang.NullPointerException
The read timed out also, and there were a few lost connections...

I'm using B953, and the version of Multiverse is supported for B953, so it should be running perfectly.
I haven't edited any files for Multiverse yet. All I have done, is built two portals in two different worlds, linking to the other world respectively.

Should I post anything else about the situation?

Heyy guys... got a slight problem here. I'm not sure if it's another plugin that's causing it or this one, but since it's only occuring in a multiverse world, I'll start here.

Short version: signs are blanking themselves out

long version: random signs are blanking out... some are keeping their text, some are not. This causes alot of trouble as we use redstonechips/uquest/puzzlequest/falsebook and signs are needed to drive events that occur in the world. I'm not sure if possibly one of them might be the culprit, but I thought I'd check here b/c none of them are a common denominator for the problem. Signs can be placed anywhere and they blank.. and say anything and they blank. Anybody have any ideas what could cause this?

What other plugins are you using? Multiverse shouldn't touch signs at all.

I have an issue. When I try to load a downloaded flatgrass map, MV tries to generate a new one, thus lagging out the server within an inch of its life. Yes, I use /mvimport flat normal.

I don't see anything that should cause this problem. Double check any plugins that read signs and make sure none of them have conflicting tags/command lines. You are using quite a few plugins that make use of signs. Have you tried running a similar setup (plugin wise) on a local server with a new world and seeing if you can reproduce it?

The usual culprit of this is having a second plugin that modifies spawns in some way. If this isn't the case then double check that your Worlds.yml is correct (also attempt to completely delete and recreate it).
    Example Worlds.yml:
    Code:
    worlds:
        Test_nether:
            animals: true
            pvp: false
            alias: ''
            blockBlacklist: ''
            worldBlacklist: ''
            spawn: 0:64:0:0.0:0.0
            mobs: true
            price: 0.0
            environment: NETHER
            editWhitelist: ''
            playerBlacklist: ''
            playerWhitelist: ''
            editBlacklist: ''
        Test:
            animals: true
            pvp: false
            alias: ''
            blockBlacklist: ''
            worldBlacklist: ''
            spawn: 44:64:-10:35.69998:40.04998
            mobs: true
            price: 0.0
            environment: NORMAL
            editWhitelist: ''
            playerBlacklist: ''
            playerWhitelist: ''
            editBlacklist: ''

  26. Done in MV2

Just a side note: It should run well, but Minecraft doesn't run perfectly, Bukkit doesn't run perfectly and ergo, neither does MV. If this was my full time job, yes, I would ensure it did, but It's not. I go to work for 8-10 hours a day, come home and write code, just like I do at work, except I (and all other plugin AND Bukkit devs) do it for free.

    We're giving you free code.

Yes there will be bugs even in what we claim to be stable releases.

Ok. With that said let's see about your problem.
    1. What other plugins are you using?
    2. Do all the worlds you think should show up, show up when you do /mvlist
    3. Try using /mvremove on each of those worlds, then re-importing them via mvimport
    4. What were you/your users doing, trying to go through portals? Just walking around?

Just to clairify, I said that this was supported in 2. It is, here's the example usage:
    Code:
    Usage: /mvtp [PLAYER] {WORLD}
Hmm I'll have to look into this over this next weekend.

Side note on MV2 Progresss: Build 60 may be unstable. I don't really know, but if some people could test that and let me know, that'd be awesome.

I'm having a similar problem. I want no mobs

On both the original world and nether world, there's no monsters, but on my imported world, there's monsters. All settings are set to no mobs and the same is with my global settings. I had Performance Tweaks and I removed it and still had the same problem.

I'm going to try and re-import the world.

  29. Or does everyone know nothing?

It shouldn't, unless you're running a very old version of CB.

What's your MV version and your CB version?
Did you use MV to create this skylands via /mvcreate sky SKYLANDS
    or
Did you use MV to import this skylands via /mvimport sky SKYLANDS

I had this problem twice, and both times was a conflict. First time, was a conflict between ChestShop and LWC. Had to tell both LWC and Essentials to stop protecting signs and inside ChestShop have it handle its own protection. Second time was when trying to test the newest SignThatChest. I think it was LWC again, but at that point 1.6 came out and it didn't happen again, as I switched to Lockette and Residence. Either way, check your LWC, iConomyChestShop, Essentials (under Protections) settings, and switch the ones that protect signs.

Would love to, how do we find the link?
The kids are kind of distracted for a few weeks, so can test the servers without disrupting anything.
