I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.
Please read the FAQ before posting a error report. It may be solved there.
In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)
When you post error messages, it's important to paste the whole stack trace!

    Hi,

with LB 1.10 and CB 860 ... how can I teleport to a griefed location without being killed? Every time I tried tp it took me below bedrock...that causes me falling, being kicked, and dieing after relogging. If not below bedrock, it took me always below surface "into" the dirt (causes dieing again).
    Commands I tried
    Code:
    /lb tp player <name>
/lb tp block fire since 4 hours
/lb tp block fire before 18.06.2011

Hm, it was a tool lookup. Got blocked, somehow the connection pool freezed. Will have a look at that.
There are some tuts on youtube explaining that very good:
    https://github.com/DiddiZ/LogBlock/wiki/Installation
Um, do you mean logblock says: "permissions plugin not found, using default permissions)" or LB not starting at all?
In last case, the error message would be very helpful.

Sorry for the question. But I still do not understand. My player broke someone's house during the time interval 12:00-12:15, and I want to roll back this time, how do I do? =)

  9. Offline

    DiddiZ

Go to the house and do:
    /lb rb player <name> since 12:00:00 area 20
or make a world edit selection containing the house and use "sel" instead of "area 20"

Hm, phpmyadmin can tell how many rows are in a table
It's made for webstats, but there aren't done yet.
So you've to write your own interface for that, or wait untill I get it done :D

Turns out that it was trying to delete 7 days worth of logging - strange.. so I just dropped the db and created it again - everything seems fine.

I've been fighting with this for a week, since 1.01 and can't figure it out. I keep getting "You aren't allowed to do this" even trying an /lb lookup. I've verified that I'm in the Admin group in Permissions and that group has 'logblock.*', as well as being an actual OP on the server, verified in ops.txt.

What on earth can I be doing wrong/have missed?

What does LB says about permissions at sartup? found or not found?

    [INFO] [LogBlock] Permissions found.

Then you most likely configured permissions wrong.
What does it say when yu type: "/lb permissions"
Does it work when you have "*" permissions?

...I feel like a complete idiot. This is the SECOND time since I've started testing this that the group for my user has been set to "Admin" instead of "Admins" (which is the correct group).

Sorry for wasting your time again. All seems well.

This is probably a very simple question, but what do I do to make TNT explosions logable? the only thing I changed in config was what db to use.

Hey, I wasn't sure if you had managed to get a stack trace for the block break event bug yet, but just saw one in my console and thought I'd paste it here. Hopefully you can pass this to the bukkit devs so they can figure it out. Thanks for the great plugin!

    @DiddiZ

I'm seeing a lot of servers still using BukkitContrib 0.0.2, because it was bundled with Logblock. It'd be nice if you could bundle 0.0.7 with the next 1 or 2 releases, just long enough for most servers to have an updated copy. I included code in 0.0.7 to automatically keep itself up to date.

  28. Offline

    DiddiZ

I noticed that too. Including was a mistake, I noticed it meanwhile. You warned me, I know, but I won't belive. Won't happen ever again, I learned from this. I replaced it with the link, but that don't really pushs to update ...
I can include 0.0.7 with next version, hoping it will finally clear the situation

  29. Offline

    Afforess

Yeah, well, the good news is that the auto-updating means including isn't an issue anymore. It's safe too, because unlike some developers...I don't plan to break my API down the road.
