    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

Show your thanks! Maintaining plugins like HeroChat is very nearly a full time job. @CorumAnime, I appreciate the comments. As mentioned above, the names used for display are retrieved from a player's getDisplayName, a standard Bukkit method. If these names don't reflect the health bars provided by Healthy, then I assume the plugin uses a different way of adding health bars.

I spoke to Niji about it briefly, but had to go and honestly I don't remember what he/she said about how Healthy produces its output. I'll look more into it.

    Thanks for the support!

I can give the source or implement it into iChat

Healthy Bar is implemented in iChat: healthBar(player, bracketized (true/false))

When this occurs, no one is in the default chat channels any longer. So everyons typing and nothing is showing up :)

I'm going to try to get in contact with the author of CraftIRC to see if I can add support for his plugin.

After discussing interoperability between our two plugins, you guys can likely expect CraftIRC support in a week or so. Both plugins need some slight modifications to facilitate communication between the two.

DThielke there is an issue with 2.51

"Fixed rejoining default channels when reloading the plugin via Essentials"

This is fine and everything except for 1 problem.. Every single time i add a new user to the user list to upgrade them from Guest, to Member (we have a guest system not a white list system) it lags the server and reloads hero chat channels. We have 43+ active users and a lot of new people join daily. This is going to end up being a huge issue for me if it spams all the hero chat channel rejoins every time i add a member. Because for some god awful reason when you reload permissions, or add a user through essentials with /modgrp it auto reloads all the plugins.

Can you please either A.) undo this change or b.) add a flag to disable that for users like me who are content with just /ch reload. >.< I would appreciate it so much!

  13. Offline

    DThielke

@majorcyto, because the Essentials plugin forcibly reloads all installed plugins every time you use /pr or /modgrp, the channels are going to be reloaded and recreated every time. In fact, this was already happening before 2.51. The only difference now is that players actually rejoin all the channels after they are recreated, rather than sitting in no channel at all. If reloading the channels lags your server (which it really shouldn't with decent hardware), there's really nothing I can do about it - you'd have to talk to the developers of Essentials. What I can do, however, is remove the "Joined channel NAME" spam upon reloading.

Hello, Sorry if i sounded offensive in any way or etc i did not mean to bash your plugin at all. But yours was the one spamming the chat with notifications. Which of course i understand why its a visual notice, but yes i actually just now filed a report with Essentials makers to see if they would add a flag for disabling that functionality of reloading all plugins every time.

I knew it was doing it before but now that hero chat spams everyone every single time i add a user so its kind of more annoying than before. Its not that i lags its just.. fills up chat really fast then all the users are asking "why did hero chat just rejoin me, whats hero chat, etc etc" and as you can tell i dont want to go through this every time >.>

Especially if i add multiple users over a minute if you would be willing to remove the read out it gives when reloading then that would be more than helpful for me. Just so im not spammed with questions and wtf's :\\\

Note - One more thing i noticed hero chat doesnt work with the new word blocking functionality in iChat is there a way you could make this work by chance?

    kronflux

Two bugs I'd like to mention, and hope that get fixed.
When I reload all plugins, everyone is muted, people have to rejoin the server to be able to talk.
Also, what I call the "Color Bleeding Bug" which is when messages automatically get truncated and separated into two lines, the color changes on the second line. Example:
I realize this is likely a "feature" not a "bug" but I personally find it extremely irritating. I'd rather the text stay white as opposed to changing to the channel's color.
If it is a feature, please make it optional. If it's a bug, please fix it.

    DThielke

@unrivaledneo, I have tested this with up to build 211 of Bukkit without any issues. First try updating Bukkit, and if you're still getting errors after please post the error and your configs here.

@kronflux, the muting of players when you reload the plugin should have been fixed already. Please make sure you're using the latest version of HeroChat as multiple people have tested this and reported no issues with reloading. I will fix the coloring issue.

Yeah, I added support for iChat's censoring a few version ago, but I don't remember if I ever said anything about it.

Also, I've released a very minor update that just features some cleaner code and slightly reworked internals. End users shouldn't see a difference.

and i get an error saying
SEVERE: null (is it up to date?) which ive never had before :/

    DThielke

@M4TTH3ROCK3R, sorry to hear that - but it is probably an easy fix. First, make sure you have the LATEST version of Permissions (currently 2.0). If you're still getting the error after, I'm going to need three things from you: the full text of the error, your HeroChat config, and your Permissions config. I suggest you upload them to pastebin.

I'm admin in permissions 2.0, and this plugin tells me I can't join the mod channel. Further, I can't set mod for any channels, since /ch mod msg is overriding /ch mod channel
Using craftbukkit 230. Made no changes to default herochat config.
