I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.
Please read the FAQ before posting a error report. It may be solved there.
In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)
When you post error messages, it's important to paste the whole stack trace!

Great update btw!!!!! chests being logged excellent news!

the default consumer settings for 30 player server is way to low for me and the que builds up within matter of mins.... i found the following setting is good for me

    consumer:
    delayBetweenRuns: 3
    forceToProcessAtLeast: 30
    timePerRun: 300
    useBukkitScheduler: false

You are using a rc build or?
Drop the -chest table, or update to v1.01 (will auto drop the table a start).

    Rollbacks seem to be broke.

    /lb rollback playername 100 days

    gets this error:

    Code:
Searching block changes from player playernamehere, 100 days in the last 30 minutes in worldname:
    0 blocks found.
    Rollback aborted.

    jeffreylec

What's the easiest way to use the tool to right-click and see who created/destroyed that exactly block (or even a radius of 5-10)

Also, how am I able to change the default rollback time (30 minutes) to like a day or have it on command like the old LB, ex: /lb rollback <player> <time> <seconds|minutes|days|>

  12. Offline

    DiddiZ

    The comands systax changed:
    /lb rollback player <name> since 100 days
    1. /lb tool area 0 limit 1
    2. Set "lookup.defaultTime" to 1 day
    3. /lb rollback player <name> since <time> <seconds|minutes|days|>

    jeffreylec likes this.

Is there any chance you'll take another look at Permissions 3? Many server admins are moving to it, and Essentials is talking about starting to bundle that instead of GroupManager.

I'm now seeing LogBlock Consumer Queue overloaded. Size:2159

Now assuming my server is decent (xeon quad, 8GB RAM, 100mbit line) what would be the option to change that well, stops the queue from overloadig?

Play a bit with the consumer settings
    Code:
    consumer:
        delayBetweenRuns: 3
        forceToProcessAtLeast: 0
        timePerRun: 300

I guess your cpu isnt overloaded, so you don't have to force to process, but you can lower the delay and enlarge the time per run.

Oh okay then that makes sense. Yeah I didn't want to mess with it without having a solid idea of what was happening as my server is full and I'm too lazy to configure a dummy server again :>

Thanks! Perhaps adding it to the wiki/install guide ?

    /lb rollback player <name> since 5 minutes
    params = parameters
it wasn't perfect and was missing many features :D
    e.g:
    /lb rollback player <name> since 5 minutes

whats the new command for /lb world. Ive been playing with the new commands all day but cant get the information that command used to give me. It was nice being able to see that someone logged on and just broke a lot of stuff like glass and such with out any placed blocks.

/lb world "world", resp. /lb world "world" sum players, but you can leave out the world, so just "/lb sum p"

Did I forgot to ,ention that all commands are accessible via console?

Well I must say I love your plugin it's the best!

But I have some problem, it doesn't seem to log every destroyed block. In some parts of the world nothing is logged when I use the /lb tool. And in some parts everything by my players is logged when I use the /lb tool.

I asked a player to put down a block on the ground but when I used the /lb tool it did say that nothing was logged on this block. Then I tried the /lb area command but no luck with that either.

Do you now why it's like this?

I get alot of these in my serverlog does it have anything to do with it?
    Code:

Hello is it just me or is anyone else getting issues with WorldEdit 4.4 + LogBlock 1.0 (I know theres slightly newerver versions of each). My problem is if I use the compass in game to jumpto places with the 'worldedit.navigation.jumpto' added in permissions. After I right click with the wooden stick on a chest. After that I end up jumping all over.... I can pretty much use every object to jump to places including my hands!

Ive removed logblock and problem is fixed I can jumpto places normally with compass. Added logblock back on and remove worldedit and LB logs fine. But the two together and yep I just can't stop jumping around the map when punching with my fists etc! :(
